Remarks

Being one of the oldest and most prestigious law university in the country( in fact it was ranked as the second-best law school in 2001-2004), I am extremely lucky to be a part of this family. I am having a wonderful time here and I am much proud to be studying here. Definitely it is a great place to foster and pave the way for a successful future in law.

Course Curriculum Overview

Here we have the LLM programme with five specializations, namely constitution and Legal order, corporate and commercial law, labour and employment law, human rights and environmental law and criminal law. The curriculum design incorporates up to date developments and can be considered to be somewhat challenging. It is designed to rear students to be successful in law practice, public service, litigation, business and teaching. We have consistent exposure to moot court activities, trial court, seminars, workshops, conferences which helps in moulding us to become efficient lawyers. Research and project work is another area that receives considerable focus and we are constantly encouraged to develop our research potential. Modern legal practice is in a path of ongoing change and hence the curriculum designed here is perfect for enabling the student to adapt to these ever-growing changes. At the end of every semester, there is an end semester examination and throughout the semester there will be quizzes to test the student's learning process. Internships are also incorporated throughout the syllabus which adds to the evaluation process too.

Placement Experience

4.5

There is a campus placement cell in our university which is run by the student body in cooperation with the university. They work towards helping students in acquiring placements as well as internships in well established companies and firms. They are an autonomous body who approach recruiters to conduct on and off-campus recruitments and placement drives. Aditya Narayan& Co. L& T constructions, M/s Sundarasamy and Ramdas, Pragathi and Law Chambers, Thakur and Sinha Law offices LLP are some of the firms that give placements as well as internships to the students here. In fact, I myself have been interned in Aditya Narayan & Co, and I must say it was an eye-opening experience of practising law in the real world. I was familiarized to the mechanisms of practising law in our country. And many of my seniors are currently working in the high court and other public sector companies with attractive salary packages.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee, in general, is much feasible and affordable. Compared to the many private law schools in the country it is a very economical option for a student from a normal middle-class family. The merit seat fees are much less than the paid seat fees per semester.

Campus Life

National level moot competitions( All India moot court competition), cultural and sports activities, debates are the many varieties of activities and competitions that we conduct in our university. Jus Celebre is the law festival which is conducted every year, and it involves many competitions, cultural and sports activities. We have students from many parts of India as well as from different parts of the world and all the students coexist peacefully in our beautiful campus.

Admission

Even during my graduation period itself I had the great drive to study in an environment that is rich in tradition as well the best in India. University Law College, Bangalore University, being one of the best law schools in the country immediately grabbed my attention. So since then I had been trying hard for getting in the university. The admission procedure is pretty simple. There is an All India Admission Test conducted by the university and in addition to obtaining decent marks in this, one should also have done graduation with at least 50% aggregate from any law school recognized by the Bar Council of India.I had obtained high marks in my entrance exam and had decent percentage in my graduation, which made the admission process easier for me.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is well experienced and resourceful. All of them, especially the permanent professors and lecturers are highly qualified. We also have guest lectures from renowned legal practitioners. Our professors are very much concerned about our academic well being and makes us feel comfortable enough to approach them in the instance of any problem. Their commitment and zeal in producing the best lawyers of the country is something worthy of much admiration.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th sem. The highest on campus package this year was around 64 LPA, while as far as I know, the top 20% of the students usually get offers in the 16-24LPA range. The overall placement rate is good, but results depend a lot on your skills and practice

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose electronics and communications wholeheartedly. Since my childhood, I was very interested in electronics and very humble in learning new topics in digital electronics. I was never a coding guy, so I took electronics and communications as my course. It was an easy choice for me. So class's average strength is around 65 to 70. And the faculty: student ratio is quite good. The teachers are well qualified and most of them are doctorate holders. The timetable is arranged in a manner such that there is smooth conduction of classes for all-year students. The exams are semester wise and there will be internals every month. Questions are better, you have to know little bit contents taught in classes and also from textbooks. It is easy to pass.
