Madras School of Economics (MSE) Chennai is a place to learn more. A place where you can outreach your career's destination. Faculty members and the seniors are super supportive and just make you feel like MSE's family.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is totally different from that of the other universities. Totally different working schedule including all the assignments semester wise and the test schedules are earlier handled to the students that helps them prepare well for the same. Exams are held twice a year followed with class tests and vivas.

Placement Experience

Placements here are really good as compared to all other universities and colleges. After joining the college we were sent under the internship project that was with the different university which included good research in economics. Students who will are assigned with internships every year and the MA last year students are sent for placement fairs with minimum 9.5lakh per annum of stipend.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure may seem quite feasible to all. I deposited 10000 INR for first year in BA that excluded 2000 INR for the examination fees. The fees remains same for three years and increases to 15000 for masters program.

Campus Life

Being the student of economics we are asked to participate in extracurricular activities like economic surveys, the agenda projects the research projects and many more. Workshops are too encouraged in MSE and this really helps us do better.

Admission

After my 10+2 I had to do something in economics. No College is better than Madras School of Economics for the same. I applied for it online.The eligibility criteria is atleast 60% in 10+2 from any board. The college prepares a merit list and displays that on its website.

Faculty

Faculty of the college is extremely experienced one. They all are PhD holders and with around 20+ years of experience in the same field. They really help students to work well on their projects and help all of us to innovate the assignment presented to us.

Getting into my college days again

Course Curriculum Overview:

Social work department is always different from others. We have too many conferences, different types of sessions which is relevant and useful for our career, guest lectures and so on. We too have field works which is inseparable and much more important than theory. We have visited many ngos, we have been to rural camps and study tours.

Aspects Of College

Placement Experience:

The placements of the college are very good. The studentrs are given oppertuties and are given chances for comapnies such as amazon, Wipro, JP morgan and such that have a great CTC and a large number of other companies including startups are also available. If the student is interested in entrepernership then the startup cell funds for the ideas of students. There is a seperate higher studies cell for students who want to pursue their higher studies and are given guidance to what steps are to be taken by educational fairs and such

Placements in my college is good. Average salary package is 5LPA. Companies like Amazon, JPmorgan, Virtusa, Accenture, HCL, Valeo, TCS and other major companies hire many students here. I heard more than 90% students were placed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well structured and relevant to current academic and real world needs,it hepls built astrong foundation knowledge especially in my field geography,the syllabus also supports preparation for competitive exams and higher education. Exams are conducted regularly and difficulties level is moderate,which helps in consistent preparation,however adding more practical assessments instead of only theoretical exams would be beneficial Overall the curriculum is good but it can be improved by including updated topics more hands on learning,and modern teaching methods

Course Curriculum Overview:

The courses are well structured and interesting espcially the social psychology and basic psychology papers. in a semester there are 2 internal exams and they will be at least a month apart from each other. as long as you study your course materials, the exams are pretty easy however otherwise it might be a tough one. the courses are well structured espcially the social and basic psychology. and in some semesters, there will be a reading period where students are encourged to go and read in the Library.. The Curriculum served as a base for Internships and basic understanding but it is required to do masters to get a job in psychology filed

BA Economics hons MSE review

I wrote CUET but i did not apply to DU because of many reasons out of which delay was a reason. But then i compared the syllabus of DU and MSE and the rigor of MSEs syllabus cannot be matched with any other colleges i applied. I got admitted in few of the local colleges which i kept as a backup, but the staff lore and the syllabus is not as good as MSE. I did not apply to a lot of other colleges. The admission process to MSE is simple. You need to register for MSEET and if you clear the cut off you will be called. 12th marks are not considered at all (you need to pass tho) but they require you to have applied/standard math/ statistics in class 12th. My madras life view

The name of Exam was CUCET which used to occur each yaer in the month if may or June. It was not troublesome on the grounds that it comprises of two sections GK and your picked subject. After that they will take your twelfth Board 40% weight-age and CUCET marks 60% and will finish the outcome. I scored in CUCET was 32 out of 100 yet my twelfth board % was 85% so I got chose.
