Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good and covers all the important topics of sociology such as Economic sociology, Sociology of India and Methods of Sociology in India etc. There are 2 end semester examinations.

Placement Experience

3.5

Not much job opportunities are provided by the college.Majority he students usually prepare for competitions such as UPSC, UPPCS instead of opting for placements and internships. Some students go for higher education such as PHD in their subjects.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The academic/tuition fees of MA program is 6,500 INR/per year. The fees is not very expensive and is quite feasible for the students. The total fees for this 2 year program is just 13,000 INR which is very low.

Campus Life

There are a lot of social avtivities conducted by the seniors and faculty members of the college. We can work in the college NGO.Also there are are sports events and competitions in which different colleges participate.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors of my college are very helpful. They are always there to help their juniors with any kind of problem, be it something related to academic or personal. They also guide us how to study for competitive exams.

Admission

Students who want to take admission in M.A have to fill out an application form for admission. The eligibility criteria is that the student seeking admission must have passed his/her Bachelor's with minimum of 55% marks.

Faculty

3

The faculty is highly knowledgeable in their respective fields.Especially my sociology teacher, she has very good knowledge regarding the subjects. She tells about the the theoretical as well as the practical aspect of the subject.

Placement Experience:

Most of the placements that took place at least for the literature departments ended up with people joining educational institutes and NGOs. Very few joined corporate enterprises like Accenture. But it does provide almost a 5 LPA, if well placed. It is academically rigorous, therefore academics are weighed more than industry.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.
