Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum forced us into brainstorming the complex concepts. It made us ready for the industrial world by working our brain. Internal tests, presentations, final exams were used to test our performance.

Placement Experience

Our professors trained us well for working at our job position after leaving college. Almost all of us got good jobs in big companies, but there were no campus placements. Internships were not available either.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The yearly fees of MBA was around ?85,000. It was not easily affordable for every student. But when I explored other colleges, I discovered that they were charging more or less the same amount. Saying this course is expense would be more correct.

Campus Life

Extracurricular activities included sports, dancing singing. Computer labs were a relief from the lectures, and we could also research there for projects and presentations. Awards function would praise winners of the year-round events.

Admission

The score of any entrance test (CAT, GMAT, etc.) taken for MBA might work here as an eligibility for admission. I scored 90 percentile in CAT, and had already had BBA degree, so applied for it online, and got admission.

Faculty

The faculty were sincerely working to making us succeed in whatever we pursued. They taught us time management, stress management, mental fitness, all of which are necessary for working in industries.

BBA in Sastra

Remarks:

Sastra University has an incredible rank of 48 in the overall category of NIRF in BBA. It ranks 8th in Tamil Nadu according to NIRF Overall Ranking. It was ranked 99th out of 155 Top Private Colleges for MBA according to Outlook.The entire admission process can be completed online through the portal available on the universitys official website. I decided to fill the online form and was asked to submit 12th marksheet scoring 72%.

What is SMIT to a student?

Remarks:

I can assure you that SMIT provides one of the best college experiences in India. The faculty here are very supportive, they help each student with their doubts, encourages them to be innovative, and contribute their understanding to the research and development in science and technology. The study pattern is very simple over there, every day we have a new thing to learn, that made our subjects more interesting to study. The study procedure is more than just about studies but deeply in knowledge and practicality. There are many labs that support each student to have both theoretical and practical knowledge of all subjects. Our Institute made sure that the whole course syllabus was up to the mark and that each student gets the best education. All the authorities are very supportive, which makes the overall investing four years here worth it.One of most secure campus for girls (follow the SMIT Youtube channel) and the best part is faculty members are staying in the campus. They are always ready to help you even at mid night. You will find yourself in a place ?ÃƒÂ›ÃƒÂhome away from home?ÃƒÂ›Ã‚Â.The biggest challenge for an engineering graduate is to get a decent job or a startup or a platform from where he/she can pursue her higher studies right after getting a Degree as he/she would have invested a lot of money, time and hardwork. Very few colleges have infrastructures to meet all these demands and SMIT is one of them.

Great experience in SMU

Remarks:

After doing my 12th with 68% in CBSE, I was looking for colleges to persue BBA. One of my cousins was doing BBA from Sikkim Manipal University in Magitar and asked me to search about it online. I was impressed with the curriculum, the infrastructure and one of my cousin already studying there ended me up filling the online form worth Rs.1000 admission. I appeared for CAT exam in which I score 98. Along with application, I deposited my marksheets and other bank details. After few days I got a call for admission.

Remarks:

I was working and studying at the same time. I wanted to fund my own education. So I wanted to go for Distance Education so that I will be able to manage both. Sikkim Manipal University is the most reputed institution when it comes to getting a degree for distance learning.

If you're getting NIT SIKKIM, it's probably because you're no good to be in better NIT and have the last option but to stay here. So at my counselling, it was the college I got through my OBC rank which was around 28k.

Overall - SMIT, with its foundation built in its efficient college management, is a good private Engineering college, which offers students a solid technical education, as well as honing their creative selves and personalities, and offering them plentiful exposure to the outside world, all while maintaining a sense of discipline as well as fun and enthusiasm within its grounds amidst the mountains of Sikkim.
