Course Curriculum Overview

4

course curriculum was designed in such a way to give you complete knowledge of drug and molecules. From class 9 onwords I was very much interested in Biology subject. So, after 12 instead of mbbs or bds I choose pharmacy as a career option. Curriculum helps me prepare for my government service preparation plus getting me familiar with research and development, to teach students in this field. More advanced in the subject of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutics should be done I other to get students familiar with new technology in research and development, because this two subject are core main subject of pharmacy. Exam were taken quite often after every 1 month. the exam pattern were not much difficult.

Internships Opportunities

4

no stipend were provided from companies, companies like intas, alkem, alembic, cipla, torrent, sun pharma,. good internship opportunity to pharmaceutical companies an dto hospital pharmacy. i did both industrial training as well as hospital training as well.

Placement Experience

4

from 7th semester students eligible for sitting in placement drive. companies visited like alkem, cipla zydus, zuventus, alembic etc. highest salary is 2.5 lakh per annum and lowest in 2 lakh per annum. 85% students get placed in placement drives remaining students opt for higher studies and family business. my plans after getting degree is to get the experience the field in retail sector. and do my own business . not only I will depend on one business I will generate multiple source of income form my business strategy and communication skills.

Fees and Financial Aid

My total package for B.Pharm at my time in 2016 was 4.5 lakh including hostel fees, every semester of 6 month we were paying the course fee, before our final semester exam. examination fee was 1050 Rs. Breakage charge in every semester was taken from every semester of lab and hostel together. I availed Technical Scholarship from my father office. which was given to all railway employed son in any technical course. College were giving Minority scholarship, North east student were getting scholarship from there respective state government.

Campus Life

4

Annualy freshers day, foundation day, farwell, pharmacist day, cultural day were celebrated. all range of books and journals access were there in library, as well as e-book and e-journal were also there. free wifi to students which allows students to get wide range of learning opportunities in colleges. Frankly talking about sports due to hill station play ground were not sufficient for the sports activity. extracurricular activity were held every year like badminton, volleyball ,tennis, carrom, chess, football, cricket etc. no social group were formed \.

Hostel Facilities

3

faacilities available in hostel room is single bed with study table and chair nothing else with common bathroom for all students which was far 500m from room. very difficult to go in night time. meal was totally of spurious quality. menu and food quality not of standard quality. students were forced to stay in hostel instead of bad facility and rooms and food quality. even the locals students forcefully have to stay in hostel. if they want to stay outside they have to pay full hostel fee then they can stay outside. no option to take rent or pg, if we are taking then also we have to pay the hostel fee.

Admission

i didn't join other college, directly i got admitted in this college. i got confirmed admission in this college by advance booking of 50000 to book my seat. I choose this college from other college because it was near from my home and I have my uncle working in this college, by the help of him I got the support and saved from ragging from seniors. i didn't applied to any other college after my class 12th. direct admission by advance payment . eligibility is 10+2 with science with minimum 60% marks in PCM/PCB. No exam or entrance for admission.

Faculty

4

Faculty were friendly in behaviour, doubt clearing to students who in needs of extra classes. some faculty giving their extra time in research work in lab. helps us to prepare for competitive exam. Dr. S. Pandian sir from Department of Pharmaceutics I liked most because not only his class were interesting but also his strictness in Lab. I don't have any problem with any faculty. there were 2 semester exam in a year. the question pattern were standard not too easy not too hard. out of 100 2 to 3 students fails every year. Course was little hectic but was manageble.

Night Life

4

hostel gym were sufficient for students but the timing were not comfortable for every students. library timing was ok till 7 pm in the evening. hostel timing was little earlier for us 7pm. hangout place near auditorium, cafeteria. hanging bridge and smit gate, wiwi factory, sundar resort were most common places to hangout

The area which influenced me to choose this course was my passion for medical science. The college gives you a hands on experience for the industry and hospitals. The teaching method is just the old fashion and the exam are too frequent leaving students burnt out

The placement of our college is the best in sikkim I would say because not only a high CGPA graduate can get a good salary job but also the low CGPA graduate holds a great chance to secure jobs.. I heard from many senior students and teachers that you are provided job based on your skills

Course Curriculum Overview:

B pharmacy is a professional course and if influenced me to choose this course This course prepares you for real world application starting from communication to discipline every thing is taught in this course one becomes very disciplined and dedicated to this course once they opt for it The improvement required is to give proper gaps between sessional and semister examination as it puts too much stress on student and the faculty at the ending rushes and completes the syllabus in a hurry without proper explaination and just gives ppts at the end and sometimes doesnt even complete the syllabus before semister exams . So i think this thing needs to be inproved Sessional examinations are not too hard but semister examinations are mild to hard
