Remarks

Our campus has a big library which contains good collection of books and journals for peoples who are related to agricultural field. Our campus library attracts many researchers and visitors from all over the nation. Our college workshop is well equipped with latest technology machines & plants.

Course Curriculum Overview

This course in agriculture offers advanced studies related to plants, animals and farming with a key focus on new Research and development. Our course also includes research work and culminates with a dissertation presented to academic committees. Well the course is of 3 years but course ends after due approval and acceptance of dissertation by the commitee.

Placement Experience

3.5

As i am not much aware about placements for phd students. But mostly our pass out seniors are at top positions. Many of them are working as a teacher in government institutes and earning a handsome packages. While some are at top positions like agricultural engineer, agricultural inspector, specialist & scientist in agriculture and much more.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is feasible and relevant to pay for all subjects. Well fees depends on the topic and subject in which you want to research. One can pay their fees by Neft or through online banking.

Campus Life

There are various extracurricular activities organised by our college like cultural programmes, social programmes, seminars and workshops are conducted in every month. As Phd students we are not involved much in these activities. But we are highly interested in social programmes , research works, student parties, seminars, national & international conferences and etc.

Admission

I opt for this degree as I want to do doctorate in agriculture field and want to become a successful and highly skilled professor in agricultural university. I got admission in this course on the basis of ICAR score followed by interview. Students can also get admission on the basis of PET score.

Faculty

3.5

As this is a doctorate degree. Students have to research their own and have to made the thesis. Some teachers provide support and mentored you but students have to do research and make presentations by their own.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.
