Remarks
My time here is proving to be enriching and inspiring. There are so many things to learn, and I can hardly think of a better place for that. My network circle is wonderful, and we are just a bunch of dedicated, passionate people trying to give our contribution to our respective fields.
Course Curriculum Overview
There is a lot of flexibility in the PhD course, we have a minimum number of lab hours to generate practical results. Apart from that field visits, national and international workshops are part of the course.
Placement Experience
The institute does not have a placement cell, and with the rigorous training, seminars and workshops the employability of the researchers is never in question. There are a few options to choose from, and you can even apply to CIPHET when there are vacancies for ongoing or proposed projects.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The PhD program comes with a stipend, there is no fee to be paid, apart from the residential fee, of course. The stipend varies with departments, I am in the Division of ToT (Transfer of Technology).
Campus Life
The college life isn't exactly ""happening"", but we are too engrossed and happy in our work to even notice that. We had regular national and international seminars and workshops, and the library is a state-of-the-art modern facility.
Admission
CIPHET is the leading institute for research in post harvest engineering. So after my M.Tech. in agricultural engineering I applied for a vacancy for researcher in agro processing center for an ongoing project, and was selected after an interview.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is totally comprised of scientists and researchers. There are different divisions that specialize in different sections of post harvest engineering. The faculty is well-qualified and passionate about their work.
