Remarks

The institute was created with the sole purpose of creating practical solutions to the problems of agricultural engineering, and focusing on research and academic training for the next generation of agricultural scientists. And I can proudly say, that it lives up to its expectations.

Course Curriculum Overview

The PhD program at CIPHET focuses intensively on practical research work and testing. Apart from review work and writing research articles, we had to attend seminars and workshops on a regular basis.

Placement Experience

3.5

After the PhD, you can either join as a research associate or apply to corporates and government programs and agencies. CIPHET has an unparalleled brand name in the kind of research that it does, and there will be plenty of job opportunities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

PhD courses have research fellowships, the amount and duration of which depends on the institute and the current government policy. The fellowship is generally paid per month and is determined either by the course, or by the seniority of the researcher.

Campus Life

The infrastructure is well-constructed and maintained. There are labs, seminar halls, libraries, guest house, and accommodation for students and researchers. We attended guest lectures, seminars, and workshops within and outside the country.

Admission

I wanted to specialize in post harvest machinery, and the Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology specializes in the field. I saw an invitation for application for PhD, and applied. This was followed by an interview, after which I was admitted.

Faculty

4

CIPHET is completely focused on real time problem based research and solutions to practical problems. The faculty includes some of the country's best researchers and specialists of their fields. They are dedicated to their work, and among the very best.

We were offered placement assistance as it was an online program and i really think it is a good initiative because college are least bothered for placements for their online programs. As i had to pursue a career in marketing i started doing projects and internships in marketing and sales domain.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i have opted the course B.Pharmacy! I rate the course as optimal, neither too bad nor too good, its medium! Now comes on teaching method, some teachers are really well and good and few are those who does not teaches but only writing writing, thats it, they will not explain at all! And one thing they should change is that All Courses except B.Pharmacy in Chandigarh University have the criteria to pass the student even below the 40% only or the half of the highest number scored by the topper in the class, and for Bpharmacy its minimum requirement to pass the exam is 50%, Oh My God! This needs to be changed, Now every year, in Bpharmacy, the overall 80% students are getting Compartments (Back/Fail) in the subjects, but the University is not understanding it all. So this should be changed as earlier!
