My journey in Pearl Academy

The days I spent in Pearl Academy were the best days in my entire academic career till now and I made really amazing friends. Our HOD, Prasanna Baruah sir had guided us through out our journey. I'm still in touch with some of my teachers and they still guide me with their valuable remarks.

The Post Graduation Program for Fashion Designing is a two years program. There were total four semesters, two in each year. In the first semester we were taught about basic fashion design process, visualization and presentation techniques. Semester two provided us holistic understanding of the core subject like the fashion forms and functions, crafts and portfolio development. The next year, in third semester we learned a lot about business studies and entrepreneurship and then In final semester we got the scope to design our own final research brief and implement it successfully.

The college organizes pretty decent placement program for all the students. Almost 90% of our total batch were placed by renowned recruiting companies like, Aaj Tak, Aditya Birla Group, BBC, Times of India, SONY, H M and many more.

My entire course fees for the Post Graduation Program was 19.18 Lakh. We had to pay the fees on semester basis. The fees was pretty expensive but according to the facilities that the college offers, the fees is quite reasonable.

Since my academic performance was quite good in the college, I got the merit scholarship. The college offers two types of scholarships, merit scholarship and means scholarship. Merit scholarship is for the creative and meritorious students and means scholarship is for those whose annual gross parental income is less than 6,00,000.

The college frequently organized activities for us, like creating fashion portfolios. They also helped us to showcase our talent at the India Fashion Week. Our professors gave us chance to attend the global fashion shows like London and Paris Fashion Week. They really helped us to furnish our fashion skills.

My selection in this college was through entrance exam and personal interview. The entrance exam process of this college is really strict. All the candidates have to appear for the entrance exam and then only after getting selected they can go for the next step, which is the personal interview. Candidates are selected strictly on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam and personal interview.

The faculty members of our college were awesome. They helped us with everything possible. Specially Fibin V Raj sir was very supportive and friendly with us. All the professors and the guest lecturers were quite good at teaching.
