College management is average with some challenges from students' point of view. But overall well managed.
Entrance Preview
I took IIFT Entrance Exam. My score was 46.84/100. The college is one of the best to provide management studies. Also it is the best trade specialization college in India.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum was comprehensive and covered all areas very well. There were lot of options in terms of electives for all the areas with flexibility in terms of selecting the electives.
Internships Opportunities
Internship placement has historically been a dicey area in IIFT and a lot of companies which come for final placement do not come for Internship. Still about 80 companies came majority of which were marketing and IT companies. Average stipend was around Rs 50,000.
Placement Experience
Final placements were much better than internships. About 80 companies came and offered between Rs 8 lakhs and Rs 22 lakhs for domestic placements and a few international profiles also came.
College Events
The flagship cultural fest Quo Vadis is celebrated in November and involves many cultural and extra curricular activities and events. Apart from that UWL a sports league is organised every year with player bidding and knockout competitions.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Tuition fee of Rs 10 lakh for the two year course and hostel charges extra. The overall fee was a little on the higher side but as compared to some of the other MBA colleges, was around average.
Fees and Financial Aid
Not much idea about this one but some people had availed need based scholarship. Criteria and other details are there on college website.
Campus Life
Campus life was pretty exciting with regular students driven activities taking place in terms of both extra curricular and sports events. The hostel is co-ed so no discrimination among different gender and allowing good mixing of students. Plenty of college parties involving the whole batch as well as among different groups.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel was airy and had good ambiance with double sharing rooms. Mess food was average but there are plenty of eating joints outside college campus.
Alumni/Alumna
Very old and vast alumni network as the college is more than 50 years old. Regular alumni interactions are held and an alumni mentor program was also there which has now been discontinued.
Exam Structure
Exam structure involved three trimester exams every year and two to three mid-trimester exams depending on different subjects and faculty.
Faculty
Faculty standards was above average with some teachers being very good and haveing international repute. Some others were average though. Overall very helpful and knowledgeable.
