Remarks

I had a great memory from the college, I learned the way of life, got into a PSU, made awesome friends and found my wife there its more than I wished for.

Entrance Preview

IIT-JEE, AIEEE, BIT SAT, CG PETI scored stater rank of 191 in AIEEE and wanted to do mechanical engineering and hence opted for NIT Raipur (State Quota).

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum was comprehensive covered most of the major subjects, though more focus should have been given of machine design robotics and FEM were my electives and they were wonderful subjects.

Internships Opportunities

There was no stipend offered, I applied and completed my internship at the Bhilai Steel Plant at submitted the project at the college on working and maintenance of B&B Mill and SMS of BSP.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement were suffered in our time due to recession. Though many core companies, specially PSUs visited our college which offered compensation in decent figures. Some of which are, IOCL Approx 9 LPA, HPCL Approx 8 LPA, NTPC Approx 8LPA, CIL Approx 7.5 LPA, DRDOBEL some of the major software companies that visited our college were, Infosys, Capgemini, Accenture, TCS, Bellbazar.

College Events

4

We had technical events organized by Mechanical, Electrical & Civil department which included robotics event & designing. There was a major cultural event eclectica which had cultural events as well as technical events covered which included varieties of events and workshops including wars of band, finger painting, code solving, hackethon . There were regular inter branch sports events in athletics, volleyball, hockey, cricket and TT.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible in our time, 18 k per year amounting to Rs 72,000.00 for four years and there were scholarships of students which are not so socially or economically privileged.

Fees and Financial Aid

There were scholarships offered to students who are not so socially or economically privileged. Extra books were also provided to them from the library through out the four years of study.

Campus Life

3.5

The gender ratio was poor in core branches and good in Bio Tech, Bio med and architecture. There were regular cultural activities organized at our college at inter branch level and there was a grand event of inter college level. There was no special preference given to any race of students, and no body was formed so with such interests. There was little or no clash between the hostelers and day-scholars but as the number of day-scholars were limited the hostelers were dominant ones. There were students from every region and economic background and there was diversity in their attitudes also, making college a great learning place.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities and mess food were not so good in the first year though later on we had co operative mess, due to which the standards improved substantially. These days new hostels have been constructed which makes us envious jokes apart the situation is much better these days when it comes to hostel and mess food.

Alumni/Alumna

The interaction with our seniors was good but not great, there were smaller groups of same ethnicity which formed groups with junior students but overall it was poor.

Exam Structure

It was more of a chilled out experience, the college gave us the delight to grow on our own, though attendance were always a factor to attend classes as low attendance affected sessionals directly.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty were quite supportive and were genuinely helpful, and some were true masters of their field. Our branch gave wonderful results in GATE that year including AIR-6. They inspired students to learn more of their branch and have give they support for technical events as well as cultural events which were organized by Mechanical Engineering Association of our college.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are eligible to appear for campus placements which starts towards the end of their 7th semester. Companies that visited for Civil Engineering: L&T, Adani, Stratview Research, PlanetSpark and several local firms. The highest packages were offered by Adani (approx 7 LPA) and L&T (6-7 LPA). Around 5-7 students received placement offers from the mentioned companies. It is important to note that a lot many students did not sit for campus placements as they had different career aspirations (government jobs, higher education, business ventures etc.) My plans were to prepare for upcoming competitive government exams as well as try my hand at something different and creative

Yeah ,the course in terms of comprehensiveness is really satisfactory. I have some issues with sequence of subjects which are covered ,but there is no compromise with the comprehensiveness. So I would rate good that too .

1. Students from seventt semester and onwards are eligible for the campus placements. 2. There are ample numbers of comapnies visited in our college like schneider electric, bpcl, bhel, bhel, reliance, catterpillar, eil, and so on. As per the last year data around 130 comapnies made in to our campus and they offered around 800 plus offers to various studenst of different departments. 3. The highets package offered this year is 60 lakhs that is offered by DE Shaw and average package is something around 11 laks per annum 4. Taking considerations of students of all departments, almost 70 percent students get placed. 5. Presently my plan after getting degree is to get into a job.

Microtex, HCL, Wipro and many other IT companies gives us research projects and also their work as well. So, we basically have indirectly worked for them and the ones they feel can add more to their organization comes with a clear mind and take us with a package that we expect them to. So, placements are purely on performance as those who perform well are given best of placements.
