Remarks

I had an eye on Somaiya college after I passed the 10th. But my parents didn't want me to travel locally. But then after my 12th, I got admission in Somaiya. The main reasons I love studying in this institute are its students and the campus. The teachers here are pretty good too and a maximum of them are graduated from Somaiya itself. So they share their experiences and that's the best thing. Somaiya has become like a second home due to its huge campus. And how can I forget the 'n' number of canteens and its food? The admission process is pretty much the same.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I wanted to do CS and hence I chose Bcom for graduating. There is the exact fine ratio of the faculty-student ratio. Most of our teachers have graduated from the same college and hence, it's fun when they share their experiences. Bcom is pretty easy compared to CS so I didn't have much problem while studying. We have Viva and the term exams.

Placement Experience

4.5

I want to do an MBA while I will be still doing my CS course. I have many senior friends who now have a job due to Somaiya placement programs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Fees are not much but not cheap too. It's perfect as it should be. There are many programs conducted in the campus itself that are future-oriented or job oriented.

Campus Life

5

I am an SK Somaiyan and the fests here have huge importance which is good. We get to participate in extracurricular activities due to this. Sports grounds are perfect too except the rainy days because it's obvious. There are many kinds of student councils for sports, creativity, and whatnot.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Bcom degree is not recognized now a days because people around take it as a simple course. But if you are really interested, you can build a career out of it. Bcom degree over a period of 3 years provides wide variety of knowledge in accounts, auditing, costing, business management, economics, advertising, computers and even taxation. All the fields of commerce are covered in this 6 Semester course. Only the thing is how students pursue it. Syllabus now has case studies for all subjects which help students get well versed with how the world beyond this walls works. It gives an idea as to how to find solutions for the problems in every field of commerce. However, I feel that the curriculum should include industry visits atleast once a year as the projects and assignments for the course are basically dependent on it. Besides this, studying is important even if you are pursuing a simple Bcom degree. I have realised that difficulty level of exams increase in every Semester
