Remarks

The management is good under the Vidya Vardhaka Sangha. The college is excellent in the departments of Computer Science, Information Science and Mechanical department. The placements are top notch. Overall the college does offer a good college-feel experience.

Entrance Preview

To get an admit for this college, I wrote the COMEDK, which is analogous to the CET. I scored an all-karnataka rank of 10050, which was enough to successfully get the seat in the course, Information Science & Engineering.I chose this course because it's a main branch of Computer Science and I have had strong passion for Computers since a very tender age. I chose this specific college as it's the best VTU affiliated college in Mysore.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum was decent. The difference between Information Science and Computer Science lies in the 3 subjects of the 7th semester curriculum. The subjects are diverse where needed and concept-specific where it must be. Overall, a challenging and exciting curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

In my consideration, the college internship offers are under-par. This is an area the college must meticulously look into. However, a few great-heads to manage to pull an internship with a general stipend of 3000. The internships are from companies such as HP and Accenture, which are partners of our college in the Training and placement department.

Placement Experience

4

The placements and job opportunities are handled by a separate department- The Training and Placement Department. The head of this department, Ms.Roopa Priya is wonderful at her job. She garners the highest possible number of companies for the students and ensures the placement rate to be at its peak consistently. I personally have been placed in the company- VTiger from the college placements. The college placements, achieve a rating 4/5 in my view.

College Events

3

The college's main annual event is the 'Vidyuth'. It's almost as a cultural event, comprising of various dance shows and other fun activities. The other departmental activities include The annual department fest 'Insignia'. Here students are allowed to take part in various extra-curricular activities to improve their technical skills.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is of two types- CET and COMEDK. The CET fees amounts to about 50000 per year, whereas the COMEDK admitted students have to shell out 1,50,000 annually.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, there is decent scholarship provided for the needy. It is only applicable to those in need after a thorough interview with the candidate.

Campus Life

3.5

Overall it's fun. The cafeteria is the benchmark, giving the college its uniqueness. The activities are good. The robotics workshop does occur once a year. The workshops on ap developments are the colleges favorite.

Hostel Facilities

3

I don't stay in the hostel, making me unappropriate for rating it. However one of friends does, saying its good. There are two separate blocks for hostels one for the boys and one for the girls. The food there is pretty good too.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni are placed in reputed companies. They are happy with the degree they received and also they keep visiting the colleges to give us the feel of life after college.

Exam Structure

The Exam is conducted twice a year, once in June for the even semester and one in December, for the odd semester. My college being VTU affiliated, has the pattern of 8 questions, requiring the students to answer any 5.

Faculty

3.5

The Faculties of my college are experienced. I am not very sure of the faculties in the other branches, however I have known they are good. The faculties of my department, i.e., IS&E vary from P.hD holders and M.Tech holders. They are experienced and the quality of lecture delivery is good too. The experience they posses is no doubt, a lot. Overall, they are more than satisfactory.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
