Now a days there is centralised admission under Director of Higher Education Chandigarh. You can apply for this college at www.dhe.chd.gov.in

Course Curriculum Overview

Bcom is one of the most approached course in commerce. Most of the Teachers have Doctorate in their fields. There are two semesters per annum and two mid terms

Class Size: 200Course Fees: INR 20000 per year

Placement Experience

College do conduct a Job fair. But jobs offered are like 7k p.m. that was my monthly rent of PG. Considering it a good commerce college placement offered in campus were not upto the mark

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for this course in Govt. College is quite impressive. I was charged around 10k for each sem.

Campus Life

College have a good Library.. They conduct Sports meet once a year. You can participate in inter-college sports competition too College Student Council Elections are one of the most interesting phase of college year

Hostel Facilities

I opted a PG in Ph 10 mohali because the Govt. Hostel provided by college was in the other side of city and a public bus took an hour to college.

Hostel Fee: INR 84000 per year

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is not hard ofcourse but it's pretty old fashioned and non modernistic . No technology inculcation in the curriculum. Difficulty level is not much . There should be modernisation of the curriculum. More technology inclusion . More tech based learning . More practical education.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like tech mahindra, airtel, delloitte,etc visited for campus Placements. The highest package this year was 9 Lakhs. And average package this year was 6 lakhs. Near around 97% students got campus placement. After getting degree my plan is to opt for MBA in finance from a good reputed college .

I applied for 5 college sd mcm dav gccba 50 and pgcc 11 and i got admission into 2 colleges mcm and gccba 50 . I chose this college over mcm beacuse it was near to me and discipline is properly made . Yes I did apply to other colleges. But this college was my top preference.This is the best college for commerce if you are there to study. No i didn't get any rejection from other colleges.
