Remarks

I have come across an exam COMEDK in an article in the newspaper. Bangalore is the silicon valley of India, I was getting colleges from other places too but I decided to choose Bangalore because of its startup culture. Then comes the toughest question, which college to choose, I had many options through COMEDK and many suggestions from different websites, student reviews and lot's more. Finally, I made a decision to join CMRIT Bengaluru. Admission usually takes place after COMEDK counseling, in the month of August-September. Why CMRIT? 1. It is situated in Whitefield which is surrounded by big software companies. like IBM, Wipro, Accenture, TCS, SAP, etc. 2. 100+ Companies are placement partners with CMRIT, Bengaluru 3. NAAC A+ Accreditation(only engineering college in Bengaluru) and all courses are NBA accredited 4. Ranked 5th in Bengaluru and 8th in Karnataka by Education World Engineering. 5. Faculty are skilled and supportive and foster research and innovation.

Placement Experience

4

CMRIT is situated in an IT hub where companies like Deloitte, Mindtree, Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Oracle, SAP, Mindtree, etc are there. the college has a tigh up with 100+ companies that provide great placement opportunities. So far 72 companies visited in the college in academic year 2019-20 whereas there were 428 offers provided, the highest package was 11.76 LPA. CMRIT fosters research and innovation among the students hence most of the companies visit this college for placements. Also, CMRIT provides placement training from 1st year through TYL(Tie your Laces) program. Also, it asks every student to make mini-projects each semester related to the current technology trends to make them industry ready and competent with the other engineers.

Fees and Financial Aid

Its fees are different for a different course, for CS/IS it's Rs 2,01,960 tuition fees and Rs 30,000 is fixed as college fees for all the courses, also there is Rs 3000 for TYL program that is for placement training. Also if you came to college through CET then total fees is Rs 86,000. Also, some categories and minorities have lower fees than this. College provides a scholarship named CMR memorial scholarships, which is awarded to students with financial need. it is merit cum means scholarship. Any student who is economically weak or from a rural area can apply for this. Condition is that the student should have a good academic record.

Campus Life

4

Every year CULTURA - college fest is organized in the month of February, It's a fun event and many big stars use to come to the college to perform in this fest, Ethnic day is organized in every semester, sports day is celebrated in every odd semester. Apart from it many guest lectures, industrial visits are organized, I've been to NAL(National Aeronautics Laboratory) which was organized by college, Many hackathons are organized throughout the year which enhances your knowledge and competence. The college library is remarked as the biggest and modern library which is spread on two floors and all kinds of books are available in the library, also if you want to do your online course then you can use college library computers. Classrooms are well ventilated, There are many technical and non-technical clubs in the college, AAROHAN( music club) has won many awards, we have dance club, drama, and literally club. I am also a co-founder of a technical club the cybernauts.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

There are single, double sharing triple sharing and four sharing rooms in the hostel, there are 4 hostels in total, 2 old hostels (separate boys & girls) and 2 NRI hostels(separate for boys & girls). hostel cost can vary from Rs 90,000 to Rs 1,24,000. Rooms are not so good not to bad, you have to survive with bed bugs, and mosquitoes, toilets are cleaned on regular basis, but still, some people make it dirty I mean really dirty that you can't use it. Warden uses to take attendance every night and if any emergency is there he will care for you as his own child. Food is really bad, you have options in veg and non-veg but being a vegetarian it's tough to survive with hostel food, also during a particular day, there will be too much crowd during lunchtime that you have to miss your lecture or miss your lunch. Most of the time you have to be dependent on food delivery apps. Even we have suggested some changes in the meals but higher authorities don't listen to us.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is very active in our college. Every year more than 30+ companies come to our college for recruitment . Our seniors from 7th semester get placed in many companies and before getting placed in the company our college offers internships to every student. Around 80 % of the students get placed in companies and work efficiently. The average package for civil engineering is 2.5 lakh per annum.

Placement Experience:

RIT's placement scenario is very good, even for the most unpopular branches such as Civil Engineering. Starting from the 7th semester, students are allowed to participate in campus recruitment, and companies come to the campus for the entire final year. The major recruiting companies are L&T Construction, Shapoorji Pallonji, Brigade Group, Sobha Developers, Atkins, PWD, and Infosys for the non-core sector. Civil students on an average get ?5–6 LPA as salary, and the highest offer is usually in the range of ?12–15 LPA, depending on the company and the position. Almost 70–80% of Civil students are placed, while some of them go for higher studies or government examination.Site engineer, design engineer, planning engineer, survey engineer, and trainee engineer are the core positions that are offered. Also, non-traditional roles in IT and consulting can be taken up by those who are not interested in core engineering profiles.I will first acquire some work experience in the industry after completing my degree and then will pursue a master's degree in structural engineering to gain further specialization.

Students become elegible for placements from 7th sem onwards but we are encouraged to do internship before final itself. Most of the companies that come here aren't t1 or even t2. Highest probably would be 12L only if the student is exceptional but most would secure a package 4-6. And the percentage of students getting placed is <50%
