Remarks

The college management was average, as mentioned earlier we have few in house and few visiting faculty. Most of them were great in teaching aspects of BMM.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course that I had opted for was very interesting and new at the time. We were taught many intresting topics. The learning imparted was very good. The curriculum groomed to provide industry specific knowledge. However, I was not aware of campus placements during my time. There was one industrial visit to Rajasthan during my course.

Placement Experience

0.5

No, as mentioned earlier, I was not made aware of any college internships being held in campus. Never was I ever told about internships by any faculty.

College Events

2

Phoenix is the annual cultural college festival presented by the Cultural Forum of K J Somaiya College of Science and Commerce. It also hosts exciting events such as debate competitions, dance events held by students. There was also a event held where engineers had created a f1 racing car and the journalists were present.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees were expensive for me as my family background was not financially stable. We had to pay fees for one semester at a time and each year had 2 semesters. There were no additional charges as such and no, I did not pay any fees for securing admission.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I have never opted for any scholarships. I was not aware of any scholarships programs in college.

Campus Life

3

Campus life was not that great, I did not have much friends and I spend most of my time either attending lectures or some time in canteen. We once conducted an anti-drunk campaign as an initiative against the increasing number of drink and drive cases in the city. The objective of the campaign was to raise awareness through banners, poster followed by videos and enactments on the screen to educate people and highlight the consequences of drinking and driving.

Admission

I joined mid way, hence I an interview set up with the principal. She asked me questions about my previous education, what I wish to achieve here and my life goals She was a very kind and understanding principle and was interested in my future plans and not my percentage.

Faculty

3

We had on campus faculty as well as visiting faculty. The average age actually varied a lot we had few professors who were 40-50 and few were in the 25 - 35 age group. I'm actually unsure of the number of lectures in my course. Yes, they were very clear and precise in the subjects they thought. Although some were very arrogant and had made favoritism a subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course. It helped me in my personality building and also I learned new things like- Video and photo editing, handling cameras, communication skills, Acting, Advertisement writing and shooting, and many more. Class strength is good as they allow 25-30 students for one course. Faculties were too supportive and masters of their own fields. They take 2 internals and 1 final exam at the end of the semester which is of 6 months.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I want to be in the film industry. I want to become an actor. This course helps us to get aware of all the media industries. Be it films or television or even radio. Now, there are even more fields such as Public Relations and Event Management. There is an almost equal number of girls and boys. The faculty have industry experience and are well-spoken. They help us in each and every way possible. The use of presentations and modules is common. The learning process is fun and easy. The examinations are conducted in a semester pattern. There are a total of 6 semesters that are conducted on time. The syllabus covers a wide range of topics such as communication, films, photography, etc.

Form third year students become eligible for campus placement. Many reputed companies like times of India hindustan times visited our college and got various students selected based on their caliber. The average package here is a around 5-10 Lakh per annum. Only those students who are talented enough for any post get selected for particular job. I'm planning to do a internship in popular media House.
