Remarks

It is a good and well known college. The faculty is really good and so is the management.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college course is as laid down by the University. It is a good course where I learnt a lot. The subjects I learnt stood me in good stead in the jobs I held later in life. For example, when I worked with a chartered accountant, my accounting subject helped me understand the job.

Placement Experience

1.5

I did apply for a summer job with a chartered accountant, and they had displayed the job vacancy on their notice board. So I did a few months auditing for the chartered accountant at Dena Bank and a few of this other clients.

College Events

2.5

We had a rose day which we celebrated by giving roses to those we liked. Then there was a a gymkahana which used to have tournaments. The events here are not very big compared to other mainline colleges. Although this is a good college and has its own set of festivals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure when I joined was decent. It wasn't expensive at all. I don't remember the exact fee at the moment since it has been a long time since college. I had to submit a cheque I believe. No additional charges. There is transparency in the fee breakdown

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I did not opt for the same. Really, this is annoying. When I have not opted for a scholarship why do I still have to fill in 200 characters saying I didn't? Please review your form so that it is user friendly.

Campus Life

4

Campus life was great. There were people from all strata and it was fun interacting with everyone. As far as gender ratio is concerned, it was a majority of boys, and maybe 30 per cent girls. There were sports and competitions in extracurricular activities. These were good.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

No, I did not opt for hostel, as I did not need it. I used to travel daily to college by bus or sometimes would even cycle from home to college. I don't think our college has hostel rooms. In case you are looking for rentals, these are available at decent rates.

Alumni/Alumna

I am not aware of an alumni network, and didn't really interact with senior students, although I am pretty sure they would have been cooperative if I needed something.

Admission

I applied to the college for admission when the college announced dates for college admission. They had a cut off of 60 per cent marks for admission, and my percentage was above the cutoff. So after I filled in the form and submitted it, I was selected for admission.

Faculty

4

The faculty was quite good. In fact, some of the professors and teachers were really good. Of course you have a mixed bag in some cases, but overall, we had some really good professors. No complaints. I think it is a good college, though I have no idea how it is at present.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.com is not a very comprehensive and complex degree to complete for someone who wants to pursue his/her career in finance. It can be referred as an initial start or push start for one's finance journey over the years. Also the relevance of B.com in real world is gradually decreasing day by day.

Placement Experience:

From semester 5, you become eligible for final placement and semester 3 for internship placement. many companies like Nykaa, Myntra, Duetsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, Zomato, Beerbiceps and more have visited. the highest package in history is 38 lakh per annum. The average is 8-9 lakh per annum. Around 70% of students get the college placement. My plan is to start my own business after college. I am although doing internships through college. Already done one in Beerbiceps and one in chorus call.

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
