Remarks

I had quite low ranking and I was specific about choosing electronics branch.I don't like coding that much. Though VTU has outdated syllabus and many other issues, I had already planned for masters in abroad. So, I still chose this college which is affiliated with VTU.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Course curriculum is completely basic level and it's indeed outdated. Faculties teach only for the sake of examination most of the time. But, there are excellent lectures who have good knowledge about the subject like Sandeep sir ,Alfred sir ,Geethashree ma'am, rohit sir, chethan sir.No, we aren't provided with much industrial (core) exposure until 5th semester. We have a program in 5th sem which will select students for VLSI training and another program for embedded systems. Rest all are competitions IICDC and eyantra robotics we received a huge support from college for participating and qualifying in these competitions.

Placement Experience

1.5

So far , around 97% of our placements is for IT companies. Mass recruitment of students every year the title is most of the times TRAINEE Engineer .We have a seperate portal for placements where we upload our CV and resume and that is sent to various companies. I don't like the placement process all branches ending up in IT and we have to pay the placement fee if we get selected. If we get selected and want to sit for another company then we have to pay the placement fee+cancellation+new company fee which is very uncomfortable. Alumni network is not upto the mark. Only those went for masters after graduation are notable alumni. Entrepreneur cell is currently filled up with good ideas. One of them would be the batch which qualified for IICDC.

College Events

4

Our college holds an annual event called as VIDYUTH. It's a medium sized event participation is average. Other than this our college hosts many national level hackathons every year and we have received good response from south zone.

Campus Life

3.5

I am not so interested in sports but sports facilities is good in our college. Basketball , volleyball, badminton courts and all other sports equipments are available. Our college team have also won several shields. Wifi speed is really good but we have to fill few forms for security purpose. Lab equipments are updated as our college became an autonomous college. Also, students can use the open source lab equipments whenever required. Parking is still not well managed.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
