Remarks

I had not secured enough marks for MBBS then I got to know about the bachelors of physiotherapy which is a very nice growing profession in India. Being a Muslim student, I got admission easily because 50% of seats are reserved for Muslim candidates. Also, Jamia Hamdard is securing the top rank in the list of best physiotherapy colleges in Delhi.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I opted this course because I'm not a student who would love to drop a year when the best course is already inviting me. Physiotherapy is a vastly growing profession in India. The demand for physios is increasing day by day as for every 1000 people, there is only one physiotherapist available in India. The entire physiotherapy department in Jamia Hamdard has almost 25 - 30 teachers. 8 to 10 teachers are posted in new OPD while 5-6 are posted in rehabilitation centre. Others are there to take lectures in between. Overall the student-teacher ratio is good. Most of the teachers are PHD while some are MPT graduates with an experience of 9-10 years. The teachers are really friendly and helpful. The teaching method is really appreciable. Before 2018, even semester system was followed but just after 2018 when I took admission there, the annual system was applied. So now there are annual exams every year in May. It would be easy to achieve good scores if you study from the very starting.

Internships Opportunities

4

Since Jamia Hamdard has it's own hospitals in the campus. The intern students are posted monthly in different hospitals like for 3 months, students are posted in Jamia Hamdard and for the next 3 months, they would be posted in different hospitals.

Placement Experience

4

The 4th year students and the intern students are eligible for campus placement selections. Authorities from different hospitals like AIMS, RML, GTB, MAX, FORTIS come to visit the campus and select the students on the basis of their knowledge, skills, and feedback from teachers. The highest package I remember is 40,000 which was offered to MPT graduate student. Lowest is 18,000 offered to BPT graduates. 90% of students get placement. I will join the govt. Hospital and then later I would love to set up my own clinic.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The only drawback I would say about Jamia Hamdard is the high education cost. Every year the fee is extended by 20,000. For the batch of 2018, the annual fee is 1,20,000. The entire program is of 4.5 years. However, there are good scholarships offered every year for the needy students according to their eligibility. One of the scholarships I remember is, the student topper of the exams are offered a fee concession of up to 20%. The placement assurity depends upon your contacts, knowledge and skill.

Campus Life

5

First of all, when you enter the class, you will be given fresher's party by your seniors. Then jash-e -adab is the grand event that happens twice or thrice a year. There is one annual fest for the entire departments of the university. Then individual departments like, law dept., Engineering dept., Mbbs dept., Rehab dept. Organises their own fest accordingly. There are separate libraries for every department, however, a common huge library is also there in the central building. The classrooms are spacious, ventilated and overall good. Sports event are organised monthly are cash prizes are rewarded to winners. There are students group in every single dept. While a common student group of every dept. as well.

Interview Experience

4.5

The only criteria for admissions were NEET scores. The merit list was solely based on NEET. In 2018, students above 300 marks got a seat in the college.

Placement Experience:

The final year is for placement. An annual package of 3 to 4 lakhs in MNCs have been offered last year. An internship is a must for joining any job. Entrepreneurship is also a favorable option and one can earn a lot. Many batchmates have applied abroad for higher studies through college recommendations.

I chose this because I didn't get enough marks in NEET, but it was my first choice after MBBS due to its scope. One can do business in this field after getting a degree and can earn a handsome salary. It would be great to change the thinking of many students about this course.
