College Management is good if not great but that is only expected since our university was established pretty recently. But overall experience is definitely once in a lifetime.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum in case of LAW is precision based and accurate and visits to the High Court,Sessions Court and Legal Aid camps are regularly organized. Other courses too strike a perfect balance between practical knowledge and theory with regular excursions and application of concepts in the real world.
Placement Experience
Amity Kolkata was established pretty recently in 2015. Therefore placements are decent right now if not great but with a brand such as Amity the numbers are bound to shoot up sooner rather than later. The University is highly proficient in providing internships and does so across all courses. I haven't availed any internships as because I have sufficient highly placed contacts of my own. The University claims 100% placement but realistically that number can be placed at about 75% because not all students opt for placement and moreover the college itself has a minimum bar of 6.0 cgpa for students to be able to sit in placements.
College Events
Amity has it's annual fest known as Amiphoria which usually takes place in late January or early February. Over 250 colleges and schools participate. Other than this all kinds of other cultural events take place almost every month. Also sports are a vital and frequent part of Amity and we boast of spectacular teams in our arsenal.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being a private college Amity is on the expensive side but no donations are required to secure admissions. A complete fee breakdown is given by the university. On an average for all courses the fees is around 5 lakhs. For LAW my fees was 8 lakhs for 5 years. Fees can either be paid in person by demand draft or banker's cheque or online at the university students' portal called Amizone or on the Paytm Fees Section. However cash payment is not accepted.
Fees and Financial Aid
No i didnt opt for anything but the University does provide scholarships on the basis of 12th marks.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is unmatched in Kolkata and the University looks like none other. The campus is stunning with all world class and modern amenities available along with the latest security measures. Gender Ratio is slightly higher towards the female side. Extracurriculars are frequent and ensure maximum exposure and participation. All kinds of student unions or politics are absolutely banned inside the campus and it is also ragging free. Any instances of Ragging will invite instant rustication to the ones involved.
Hostel Facilities
I didnt opt for Hostel facilities but i have seen them and they are World Class. Centralized air conditioning,dedicated canteens,common rooms with television,single rooms and double sharing rooms,seperate sports arenas are available within the campus.
Alumni/Alumna
Since the university was only established in 2015 the alumni network is presently in the nascent stage but it will keep growing.
Admission
Admission process starts in early April every year and the tests and interviews take place by May end-early July. Orientation and Classes begin in August. I opted for the B.A,LL.B(H) course which is a 5 year integrated course for law. Besides MBBS, Amity Kolkata offers all courses.
Faculty
All courses have faculties that are either expert professionals pertaining to that specific course or have achieved high level of accolades or qualifications in that particular course. I dont know the exact number of faculties but i can safely say that each department has adequate to suffice. Age wise there are no fixed margins because faculties here are chosen on the basis of merit and not age.
