Remarks

Good in education and also fun. Renowned. Inexpensive. Experienced teachers. Lots of extracurricular activities. Co-operative staff. No ragging. The campus is close to nature. Infrastructure is old and in poor condition.

Entrance Exam

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It is compact. It is sufficient according to time. It is compact. It is well distributed. It does not have anything unnecessary. It has English which is required for good legal language & political science and & sociology needed for the proper understanding of the society on which we apply laws.

Internships Opportunities

No, my college does not provide internships. However, seniors are there to guide us. Unofficially part of groups that recommend internships. And how the fuck am I supposed to answer in 200 characters if the answer was no. Whoever made this lacks brains.

College Events

4

Sports tournaments of badminton, cricket, table tennis etcetera. Freshers' Party, Saraswati Puja, Moot Court Competitions, Debate Competitions, Fashion Show, participation in some political events like rallies, Fests, Song and Dance Shows, Seminars etcetera.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very low. It is paid semester wise and amounts around 10,000. No other fees are taken in addition to it like exam fees etcetera. Everything is included in that one-time fee payment.

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not know of any good scholarship/loan facility offered by my college that I can avail. Again, how the fuck is I supposed to answer in 200 characters if the answer was no. Whoever made this lacks brains.

Campus Life

2

Quite good. Though games rooms and such facilities are not very good. We have a Moot court, one common room, one games room. There are regular sports events, our college has a cricket team. Participates in events held by other colleges too.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel and Infrastructure facilities are quite bad, as expected fr government facility. It has proper basic amenities like benches, fans, toilets but everything is dilapidated. Paint is in terrible conditions. Windows etcetera is hardly cleaned. Has a pretty good library and also a bookstore which sells books on a huge discount.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, senior students are very helpful and friendly. They continually hold short talk sessions to explain to us about various college matters and events and answer our doubts regarding them. Not sure about the alumni network yet. But have seen some alumni drop down to help in various events.

Exam Structure

10 semesters. GPA is calculated according to a percentage equally from each semester exam. 20 marks an internal exam which includes 10 marks written and 10 marks based on attendance. Rest 80 marks are the same exam held throughout all law colleges under Calcutta University with teachers from different colleges checking the answer paper and exams being held in different colleges.

Faculty

4

Has an ample amount of security. Laid back administration. Friendly teachers and staff. Experienced teachers who try to help with studies in every way they can, more than their job requires. Finish their syllabus on time properly, not hurriedly.

Placement Experience:

Starting from our 3rd semester we will start to appear in various kind of internships there are so many big corporate law companies who came and hires from our universities. As our seniors got jobs this year the highest package is 50000 per month and she is currently working in a corporate law sector. Almost 72 to 80% students get placements. After getting my degree I will apply for internships and at the same time I think I will apply for masters program too.

Placements are given. But not what students dreamed of. Everyone gets opportunity to sit on interview and get placed. To perform good in interview our university has included boot camps in our routine which helps in improving our interview skills. Students in their last year get offers for jobs from university but students are not getting job offers as they excepted.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen B.A.LLB(Hons.) because I want to have knowledge of law because laws form the basis of society. Moreover, I had an Arts Background therefore, it was a good combination for me to explore and go according to my desired path of career. The count of faculty members of IILS is an approximation of 20-30 teachers and the students each semester is near about 70-100. The teachers are truly well versed in their respective subjects and they're immensely knowledgeable and friendly, they try hard to make us understand in the easiest manner. But the only problem is that the faculties are not permanent, it keeps on changing. The term examinations were always on time except for the lockdown time but this was also managed smoothly within time. In order to know the difficulties I would share a fact and i.e., when I took admission in my Institute there was a total number of 140 students in my semester but no sooner than the first exam held half of them failed and now we're 70 of us.
