Good college

Very good college. If you are dubious between somaiya college and any other college in mumbai. Surely you should pick somaiya. You wilk not regret it.

The college follows the semseter system in which we have 6 semesters in all in 3 years. The knowledge imparted by the teacher is quite well. All teachers are highly qualified and make us do certain activities to make us more aware about the real world and corporate environment. Yes there are industrial visits scheduled every year, most probably in outer stations.

The placement are surely there. There is a placement cell made by the college authorities which regularly conducts job fairs in which several companies come and offer jobs and internships in our college. There are some big names like wipro, motilala oswal, godreh which come every now and then. But the most regular comapnies which come to campus placement are local companies.

There are several fest and events organized throughout the year by various clubs in our college. There are 2-3 days events for every club. We can experience fun games related to management, technology, cultural and many more regularly. There are around 15-20 clubs in the college and every club has there own fest.

The fee structure is very generous and feasible considering BMS as professional course. The fee for a year is around 24000 INR. Which means 12000 per semester. The fee can be paid through online portal as well as through the cash counter in college. The college mostly takes bank drafts when you submit fees through cash couter. Once you submitted your fee you can cancel it alsoif you dont want to persue further. You can have half of the fees refunded. As far as the transparency for fee break down, there is no such option but you can write an application to principle and breakdown your fee surely.

Yes the college offers scholarship to meritorious students. But i was not a part of any scholarship programme, so i dont have much knowledge about that. I also havent taken any loans for my studies.

The campus life is amzing. We have probably the best campus in mumbai. And when I say that, i am not kidding. The ratio of boys to girls is around 1:1. The college has various students coming from different cultures and religions. The college does not discriminate on any such thing. There are seperate grounds for each sport i.e. football, cricket basketball, tennis,badminton, athletics and many more.

Yes, I have opted for hostel facilities provided by the college. We have a sharing room of 4 people including me. The hostel seats are few so you have to apply as soon as you get the admission. And the pg in near by area is the second option you can take. The normal rent is abour 5000 per room for a person.

The seniors are really helpful ti their juniors, they share experience of their own in college and make us do the right thing. They also guide us in what to do next and what should be the best for us. Even though some have passed out of the college, they are still in touch throygh social media groups.

I have a interest in management since i was in school. I persued my futrther studies in the same. I wanted to persue my studies from a reputed college so i left my home city ajmer, rajasthan and took admission in sk somaiya college of munbai. The admission process was simple one. There were merit lists on first come first serve basis. I have to fill the admission form prior to the list. And after when i got the name in merit list. I verifired and submitted all my marksheets and documents. And i got the admission.

The teachers are highly qualified. Most of them hold phd degrees as a feather in there cap. Teachers have excellent knowledge of the subject they teach. As far as the average age is concerned, it is a mixture of both young and experienced teachers. The average would be 30-35 years. The lectures given by are teachers are higly relevant in todays corporate life and they train us accordingly.
