Remarks

I have always wanted to be doctor. RGKMCH has a very good reputation in terms of clinical exposure as it has a high patient load. Academically all the major medical colleges in Kolkata is almost equally efficient but RGKMCH has better practical teaching protocols and a renwed teacher student relationship.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum needs to be updated. Faculties are good and can adapt to a changed syllabus if updated. Clinical exposure is good in this college. Faculties are actually quite good. Several departments are the regional centres here too hence often we can come across rare cases too.

Placement Experience

Once you get your MBBS degree stay assured that you can find a place to start working at. You can opt for housestaffship in this very college but that has limited seats. Others join as RMOs at hospitals near their homes or nursing homes as Medical officers. You can also start govt service at a gvt hospital as MO

College Events

The college fest is always a blast. You will be surprised will the amount of extra curricular activities it offers all round the year. There is a common room with indoor games and a music room for college band rehearsals.

Campus Life

Infrastructure is THE best here among other colleges. RGK is a multispeciality hospital. It has the best Library among all the other colleges here. There are at least 4 canteens you can easily access. Labs are well equipped but the instruments needs more servicing at more frequent intervals.

One of the best medical College in kolkata

Placement Experience:

Placement is the same as any government college in West Bengal under WBUHS. You get around 30k during an internship per month, and this goes up to 40k if you can do a housestaffship after completing your MBBS degree. During MD/MS, you can get 60k and above depending on your branch, be it medicine or surgery, and that will depend upon your NEET PG/NEXT rank. Our college hospital provides 1 year internship. It provides Rs 29000 stipends every month. West Bengal government medical colleges provide one of the highest stipend in the country. But internship can be hectic in some department.

Current MBBS curriculum is so relevant in the present scenario , It gives us opportunity for early clinical exposure, many recent study designs , video audio mode study , helps us to be familiar with practical life experience while handling patients , It also provides great scope to learn from seniors . First of all, to get into a medical college you need to appear in the NEET entrance exam. The NEET Registration process is completely online. During the registration process, you need to upload the necessary documents required in the format and size defined by NTA.
