Entrance Preview
I took Combined Entrance Exam (CEE) of DCE (now DTU) in 2007 & i secured 864 rank. I had an option of choosing civil engg., environmental engg, polymer science technology and i chose environmental engg. as i had keen interest to work for environment and save the environment in which we all breath. only written exam was there & no interview.
Course Curriculum Overview
DTU offers courses in B.E/B.tech in almost all the field of engineering. My course curriculum was very meticulously designed, it covered all the basics & vast knowledge of the core field. Prevention & control of pollution of air, water & soil was very effectively taught.
Internships Opportunities
I did my internship at Confederation of Indian Industries for two months with the stipend of Rs. 5,000/- per month. The DTU is always flooded with various types of companies like software, business development & analytics, construction etc. And the best thing is that the companies strive hard among themselves at the end of the placement year to recruit students as all the students get placed within 3-4 months of the start of the recruitment session.
College Events
There are very large no. of technical, cultural, management festivals celebrated at DTU like EPITOME, TROIKA, INNOVA, ENGIFEST, AURORA, BLUE PRINTS etc. Any student can participate in any of these fests. I was a day scholar, so i participated in a very few like in EPITOME, & ENGIFEST only but the fest season is just awesome.
Fee Structure And Facilities
At that time my fee was Rs. 17,500/- per year. But now i think it has been increased much dont know how much. It was feasible for me at that time, not expensive.
Campus Life
At DTU, there is no discrimination on the basis of gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status. there are various societies like DTU times, UAV, robotics, photography club, etc. DTU has good sports ground. and facilities are also available.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel fees was Rs.10,000/- per annum. There was shortage of hostel rooms at that time but some more hostels were being constructed. There was also twin sharing due to lesser no. of seats & the students from outside of delhi are given preferences for
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors were very much helpful, we felt like friends, they were very down to earth & also kept us motivating to do our best for college and nation. The alumni of DTU are in each and every field some of them have even joined ministries under Govt of India. Today, i am working in Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change as Senior Scientist, and in the same ministry we have so many alumni of DTU, even my boss whom i am reporting to, is also a DCEiite.
Exam Structure
To be on the lighter side, as we all are aware of the attitude of typical student, we did not do anything for the whole year & could make hue & cry at the end time of exam. The exam's pressure was not very hard & hectic, only one mid-semester exam & then
Faculty
The faculty members were very knowledgeable & very sincere. They were also very keen on interests of students & were always very helpful for taking us to any level of experience in our core field of interest. Delhi Technological University is among very f
