Remarks

To be really honest, I had to settle for this college as I didn't get admitted into my dream college. This was the last option. But apart from that, you should choose DEI because it challenges you as a person. Life is difficult here but it eventually frames your personality. The thing I like the most about DEI is that equal opportunity is given to each and every student. For every competition, proper auditions are held for the selection. I choose Psychology because I had a special liking for the subject and always had a curiosity.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

In the first semester, there were two fields- child psychology and cognitive psychology. The individual had to choose from either of the two. We also studied general psychology that included everything about functioning of the brain. Another component was experimental psychology which included learning and usage of various experiments. We performed it live with the proper materials. Proper seminars were held and sometimes group discussions also took place. We were provided teachers for the first semester. But for the second semester things changed. There were not enough teachers in the psychology department therefore we were given scholars (people completing their PHD or Mphil). They couldn't handle the class properly and weren't able to explain in the proper manner therefore we all suffered. But overall the psychology department has many capable teachers with immense knowledge of the subject. The second semester for a fail for us but hopefully now we'll get better teachers.

Placement Experience

4

DEI is a very reputed college recognised in various parts of the country and world. The students are placed in multinational companies and even with google. I don't know much because I am just in my second year now but what I have heard it that students are well placed if they are hardworking.

College Events

4

The campus life is exciting. Some event or the other is taking place ever day or a seminar by some guest. Every year on 31st January, open day is takes place. One has lot many options to choose from the events which take place. We also have compulsory NSS camp for the first years. That is a lot of fun where for 7 days, an event is held and anyone can participate without any audition. There is also Hong Kong student exchange programme taking place every year- that is every exciting. It keeps offering many opportunities to the students for them to keep taking part and being active in the college and to keep encouraging them as well.

Campus Life

4.5

The social science faculty has a huge library with every book you can think of. There are small gardens at each stop and benches to sit on. You can find a lot of greenery here. There is also labs with proper wifi system. English Department has been very well made. The washrooms are disgusting though. They always have foul smell. The common ground is large with many sports being played. Football, basketball, cricket, volleyball, badminton, chess are some of the sports. The classrooms are big in size but the quantity of students comprises it.

Remarks:

The infrastructure is not too good of the college but that of the university is huge. Also the library have a lot of books but not enough for such a reputed college with an A+ certificate. The canteen area is also without a roof and basically there are just chairs and that too in a very small area. Yet again the university prides itself for Asia's biggest library the central library and the canteen is also very good and spacious.

Highly politicized, mismanaged and poor academic quality. It is a great place if you are really enthusiastic about education and nothing in the world can divert your attention. Otherwise, you are not going to like this place much.
