Remarks

I wanted a Girl's college which looks into the disciplinary system and the studies equally side by side. Women's Christian had shown the fulfillment of my criteria which were necessary for me. It is ideal if one wants a perfectly disciplined ambience

Course Curriculum Overview

My experience in both the extra curricular activities and academics have been great. We have a respectable faculty both teaching and non teaching. There are many clubs and other activities going throughout which polishes the side apart from studies.

Placement Experience

3.5

Talking about placements and job opportunities are not really ideal in Women's Christian but it is good enough to suffice for an experience to get into other jobs. There has been 2 companies which gives opportunities but it'll definitely be better if we get more options.

College Events

There has been exhibition, departmental picnics, sports day. They invite other colleges to participate and an annual function is held every year. Other cultural events and fun filled activities goes on throughout the year.

I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Physical Chemistry faculties are the best I got, that influenced me to carry forward my research carrier in Physical Chemistry. The curriculum for the Physical and Inorganic chemistry are upto the mark and I felt improvement in teaching style and curriculum is required for Organic Chemistry part. It was good to be a part of that college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

The reality of SCC

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.

My college is best in my eyes

The English department of this college is quite good because this is a Christian College. Official staffs are not helping too much and not much communicative that's why it's a problem for the whole college. Technically somehow it's down. But the faculty members are great. After completing class 12 you can apply for this college. I'll recommend you this college because it's in proper south Kolkata and also have a hostel facility. Salary: the highest - 20000, Average - 18000, No internship available for the mathematics department.Infrastructure: As part of the mathematics department, there is no need for labs and Wi-Fi. Good Classroom and library are available. If required students can avail the Wi-Fi with charges. Hostel's overall performance is good but food and medical facilities can be improved to make the students stay comfortable.Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified but the techniques of teaching can be more effective to understand the concepts. Few teachers are not knowledgeable they just share what is there in books Course Curriculum is relevant but most of the concepts are not used in all the industries.Other: I like numerical paper than theoretical.
