Remarks

I liked the course provided by this college. The subjects are different for every semester and the aura is splendid. This college provides a very good faculty which not only is good at keeping up with academics, but also is great in keeping a good rapport with their students. There is a whole variety of extra curricular activities which brings out the core personality of every student. I for a fact, had stage fear. But after I chose MIC, I really started getting over it.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course has a whole bunch of subjects which exposes us to the real and practical world. In our college, we prioritize clubs, sports, and academics on the same level. The faculty is great. Manjushree Naik is a hostel warden, a councelor for students and is a teacher who is precise in her work. She inspires many students to do better in life. I still am in MIC, and being a first year, I have had a lot of exposure. I know that I can do wonders after I finish pursuing my BA in MIC.

Class Size: 58

Placement Experience

The first and second years aren't entitled to placements just as yet. The theirs years recently were given internships for Calvin Klein and more. Due to the knowledge provided by MIC, I believe that good placements are ready to be handed over to the students.

College Events

There are festivals for almost everything. We recently had a fest namely PROVERB, ARTICLE 19, THEATRÉ and many more. Students love taking part in all such activities because they are responsible for it. The faculty never really is a part in hosting the festivals. The students take charge by handling different departments and allocate the others their jobs. There is the socials, which is a party involving students and teachers after the main events. Every festival is celebrated as a grand event which brings joy the staff and students.

Heartfelt words to my beloved college!!

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was clear about choosing this stream as after 12th mind was fixed for preparing UPSC-CSE. So curriculum i had was exactly same which u needed!. Geography is very interesting subject and it further broadened my knowledge after i choosed the subject. We needed to write exam twice a year as many of us know it was a semester based. Question papers were of moderate difficulty and competent enough.

Placement Experience:

Placements are given in our college for a lot of departments. A senior of ours got placed into Reuters with a very high placement. In the last year, that is the 4th year, you get eligible for campus placement. After I get my degree in History, I will pursue my master's in history from Christ University only or from a foreign college belonging to the Ivy league. After that, I will pursue my PhD in history and also give the Civil Services Examination.

Placement Experience:

For my exact department, campus placements for undergraduate students isn't great, but thats a concern for any college in Media Studies. Companies like Accenture and Bosch do come for roles like HR or Corporate Communications though, and with how the University teaches, employability is pretty high off campus, with students using their network built during their internships done in their earlier years to land a job. Starting salaries vary depending on the role and company, but start from around 3-4 LPA. Im currently into UI/UX, looking for an internship so I can start working once i graduate.

Internship Provided by The Institute

The admission process at Manipal University was quite simple. I had initially applied to two Universities, one being Manipal and the other, Bennet University, Noida. I got call-backs from both and got selected too. Unfortunately, Bennet University called its students in right away and I was not in a situation to pack and leave home quickly enough. At Manipal, the criteria for admission are pretty easy, all you need are your basic documents, and the minimum mark required for BA Media and Communication is a Grade C. Apart from the document submission, I had to also submit a statement of purpose. And once that was approved, I had a phone interview where they asked about my interests, whether I am inclined towards any sports or arts, why I chose the field of communication, and what I was aspiring to become. MIC is one the best place if not the best for a student to live. I got some good reviews from the internet (review websites like Shiksha.com, CollegeDunia, Collegedekho etc.), local neighbours and from YouTube channel like MTTN, MIT Post, TMJ etc and the college's official YouTube channel. The admission process & dates. The admission process is an entrance test named Manipal Online Entrance Test (MET). The application fee: 2000 Rs.
