Remarks

The college has a very good reputation and image in north India, also it has a very big campus, and is known to most companies. It is a very old college and was one of the few colleges to have started rocketry department.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is a bit too much for students, although the facilities try their best it's too much in terms of learning and understanding. Industrial exposure and practical learning is on weak side because there is not much attention given to this. Faculties are good some are great others are not. It happens in every college, that some faculties teach with interest others just for the sake of teaching

Internships Opportunities

I did a business research internship without any stipend for Euresia consulenza for one month. It was a great experience loved it very much. The HR was very nice and kind to me

Placement Experience

Several companies have visited the college, top companies like Microsoft, tcs, tatasteel, Amdocs, Infosys to name a few. Several students have earned above 10-12 lac. The alumni network is also great. Some have joined top MNCs, the creator of Alexa was from my college.

College Events

The college hosts wide range of extracurricular activities like technical, literary, robotic. Several clubs are active in college and so there is wide options to choose from. Here you can be open and choose whatever you like.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are available for extremely bright students and those from a bit poor family. I did not avail any scholarship facility. There is Gp Birla scholarship named after the owner of the college.

Campus Life

The campus is very big, approx 780acres, but most of it is covered with trees, the college has big classes with state of art infrastructure. Certain areas need to be checked again. Sports facilities are good, the college hosts the biggest sports fest in north east india. Library is very big with all kinds of books available. Lan speed is just good, sometimes it lags.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are on the down side. The toilets are dirty and aren't cleaned regularly, rooms are good. For UG students I think hostel facilities are compulsory, there are several blocks. As I said the college is very spacious so it is difficult to travel from hostel block to college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Admission experience is obviously good because why would a clg not welcome a laxmi lol jk....Read More

Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
