Remarks
This college is approved by AICTE. Also affiliated to MAKAUT, WBSCT & VE & SD(TED), and accredited by NAAC. My admission was quite easy, directly went with my 10th & 12th mark sheet and with the JEE rank card. Reason for preferring this college: It has hostel accommodation and this college is among the top 3 private engineering college all over West Bengal.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because I have a great interest in drawing and mechanics. The professors are friendly and very supportive. Faculty: student ratio would be 1:10, for every 10 students there's one mentor. There are 6-7 faculty members for each semester excluding lab in charges'. Most of them have completed at least their post-graduate degree. The hierarchy is based on their qualification and experience. The teaching method is outdated. In each semester there are two internal examinations and one end semester examination. Exams are purely based on textbook knowledge and there's no need to use any practical knowledge. If you have good attendance and you consistent then passing semester exams won't be that difficult.
Placement Experience
You are eligible for placements only when you are in 4th year i.e from 7th semester. Recently visited reputed organization are TCS, Accenture, Pinnacle Infotech, Hexaware, IBM, Cognizant, Byju's etc. The highest package was 7LPA. I'm not sure about the percentage of students getting placed every year. College provides placement training classes. Very few core companies for mechanical and civil, but other software companies are good.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't have much idea about scholarships, but there's this minority scholarship that many students apply for. This course is quite affordable total course fees for 4 years B.Tech is Rs. 4,07,900. There's this examination fees of RS. 1200 that we have to pay before every semester examination. And the hostel fees is Rs. 33,000 for every semester.
Campus Life
There are two fests' conducted every year, one is cultural fest (Navodaya) and the technical fest (Kritanj). Navodaya and Kritanj are most likely to be conducted in the month of March. These fests' provides the platform for the young to showcase their talents in the arenas of dance, music, theatre, literary, gaming and sports. The library is not that big, but it contains all kinds of books and journals. We have smart classrooms and well-equipped laboratories. The campus has WiFi as well. There are many fashion show groups and drama groups as well. You can take part in various extracurricular activities which will happen throughout the year. Annual sports meet is conducted in the month of February.
Hostel Facilities
The room contains one bed, one table, one chair and a cupboard. There's this common hall which contains a TV. Rooms are shared and are cleaned regularly. Rooms have big windows. Water purifier and geysers are also provided. Hostel admission fees are Rs. 5000 (non-refundable) and every semester you have to pay Rs. 33,000. And mess food is not hygienic. Washrooms and toilets are cleaned regularly.
