Course Curriculum Overview

5

The college follows the curriculum that has been decided by the Karnataka University and is very good. The course offers several different perspective and schools of literature in the English language. The semester system is followed.

Placement Experience

1.5

Various departments conduct placement drives throughout the year. The English department does not have the opportunity for placements, as is the norm for arts based post graduate courses. Coaching for scoring better employment is done, however.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee for both the semesters is a total of around 31,130 Rupees for both the semesters. The fee for MA Part 1 is 16,890 and MA Part 2 fees is 14,240. Overall, the fee structure is very affordable and is on par with the demographic.

Campus Life

4.5

Extra Curricular activities are very much a part of the curriculum at large. There are lots of clubs to participate in and are run by students and professors are always very encouraging about various activities that are carried out by us. Several fests are also carried out throughout the year and are generally very rewarding to work for.

Admission

The admission is done on the basis of academic performance in the final year of the Bachelor of Arts degree. The admission is entirely on the basis of merit with a few exceptions/allowances for individuals with reservations. PG Diploma courses are also available. Minimum 50% has to be scored in Bachelors for Open category students.

Faculty

5

The faculty is very interested in the language and always up for new challenges. They are well read and are always encouraging us to read more and more so as to develop our language. The They also offer special coaching for employment purposes.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester where you have to do an internship project for the semester based Most of the companies that visit are from the news organisations like Bangalore Times, The Hindu, Mint, Times of India, Deccan Herald and other companies like ITC also visit frequently. I am not quite sure about the packages offered.

Placement Experience:

By the end of the 2nd semester, we are constantly notified about any vacancies in any department. The college placement cell sends us notifications through our class monitors or sometimes throyoutlr HOD. Even after the end of our final semester exam, we are added in a group that is specially meant for job opportunities and placements, where they constantly update and notify us. Out of 32 students in our class, a total of 12 students got placement. As for me, my plan is to do PhD in the said field.

curriculum is extensive and large and some students find it hard to grasp all the knowledge given for the syllabus. it may seem daunting at first but i rather prefer this than having little to nothing to study as it helps me find new things to read which i would have never figured out before.
