Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our college curriculum was very hard in my point of view. In our college exams was taken in two parts one internal and other external. Internals was much more difficult in compare to externals I don't know the exact reason but it was for many kids.

Placement Experience

4

Fellowships provided here was top class. I got a fellowship of post Junior Research Fellow(JRF) with salary 31,000 for 2 years which later got increased and became 36,000 for subsequent years. Many of my batchmates are now scientists working under the government.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For such course fee structure always got very high. But as this college was government linked up and this made my fee very less feasible for my course. Everything was summed up in this charge even our student trips.

Campus Life

4

We had little less extracurricular activities as our syllabus was too vast we utilised our lot of time in studying only. Yet we had alot of sports events in our day to day life which gave a little soothe to us.

Alumni/Alumna

All our alumnis were well conducted with the help of our association. Even our seniors were good in everything. They helped us in all the academic and non academics stuffs. Alumni often came here to visit us and guided us.

Admission

It all depended upon my marks in GATE entrance exam. I got admission on the merit of my marks in GATE. This college was one of the first places who developed electron microscope in Asia. Getting admission here was the very honourable part of my life.

Faculty

3.5

Top faculty members were the part of our institute. Many of the scientists were the part of our faculty. Quite famous scientists visited our college alot of time and taught us many important part of our academics.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
