Remarks

The change that we could see during the last year or so has been great. As my college is located in the centre of the city transport is not an issue. The faculty and the infrastructure has improved. College could definitely improve on the placement that we currently offer to the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum was average during the first three years of my college time. However they have revamped the structure and improved the facilities. The exam structure is based on the University structure. However college has a separate practice exams for the student.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 110000 per year

Placement Experience

The placement is good overall. However the biggest drawback is that most of the companies that visit our college offer jobs that are not relevant to engineering. Be it back office or customer service. Internship is not provided by the college but you can apply for internship and the college will allow you to have time off.

College Events

We have a technical fest during the engineer's day/week. We have our cultural festival "Shivanjali"" during the month of feb. Participation in both the events are massive. Technical fest is a competition between different courses. Cultural fest is an event which brings everyone together."

Fee Structure And Facilities

Comparing it to other colleges in Pune it has an average fee. Not very expensive and basic. So the fees during my last year of college was above one Lakh which is average fees accepted by the colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not sure about any scholarship or loan provided by the college. The college provides the basic help that is provided by the government. College adheres to all the government schemes that are available to help the students.

Campus Life

As I have mentioned, since the new principal has arrived the labs and the equipment have been upgraded. This has improved the practical learning. The college is diverse and accepts students from every race/religion/caste. Sports is an integral part of the curriculum. We have an intercollege sports event as well compete with other colleges.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. We have alumni students visiting college and sharing their experiences with the present batches. College is always in touch with alumnus. Talking about seniors, during the cultural/technical fests we get to bond well with them.

Admission

My admission in this college was via an entrance exam. I scored 92 in Mh-cet and filled in the CAP form. This helped me land a seat in the college. You can also apply through Jee-Mains. This is another entrance exam.

Faculty

They quality of the faculty has improved. To be honest the current faculty is the best that the college has had in the last 20 years. The new principal in the college has made a lot of changes for the good.

placements start in 7th - 8th semester . Companies like wipro cisco and TCs etc visit. Average package is 4-5 LPA , and highest I could say 9 to 10 LPA .. my plans would be- if not got high paying job on campus I will try off campus too..

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. My experience of iiit pune

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements once they enter 3rd year of college. Some notable companies that visit the campus is nomura, walmart, amazon, nvidia and they take 5-6 candidates each while nomura takes 15-16 per year. The highest on campus is 43 lakhs while off campus is around 1.4cr. average package is 14-15 lpa mostly for swe roles. Percentage student getting placed is 50% oncampus and if we add off campus the number goes to 80%. I plan to work in the industry for 2-3 years and then try to go for masters.

Admission: I had also applied for top colleges of Pune with tech related branches but the main reason I can't get their is due to high cutoff of colleges I had applied for top colleges like VIT Pune,PCCOE Pune ,PICT Pune ,D.Y.Patil Pune etc and through cap process depending on my percentile I get my current college AISSMS IOIT Pune and I confirmed for these I sorted the colleges depending on some parameter like last year cutoff, placement percentage, autonomous or not etc My college is in Maharashtra so around 80% of seats given to the students who are admitted through Maharashtra state entrance exam for engineering that is MHTCET and remaining 20% are seat are for candidates who admitted through JEE MAIN score so most students peffered MHTCET Exam for admission in our college The overall addmission process is like after declaration of result student make list of colleges and branches those he want to take that list is in a sequential manner then student had to upload that list on portal of MHTCET after 2-3 day result of that list comes and the college which is allocated seen to us then it depend on us that we want to confirm that college and branch or go for next round total 3 rounds are take place in that process and after confirmation of college reporting has been done offline to the college for final addmission process...Read More

Reviewing the journey up till now !!

I gave several exams and cracked them , but due to some or the other factor , I couldn't choose any other college. Due the ongoing CBSE boards, I couldn't register for MHTCET which is apparently a state exam for MAHARASHTRA . You can opt for different colleges in MAHARASHTRA after giving this exam.
