Remarks

The population is enormous. The number of students in the first year only are 7000+.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The academic point of view, the course curriculum, the exams, and all are just fine, there aren't any major issues with the academics part but a handful of the faculty aren't really qualified enough. The course curriculum is through and planned. The exams are scheduled but there's a lot of pressure on the students throughout the year.

Placement Experience

3.5

Our college always tries to show off on their college placement records, they only show the icing on the cake but the reality is often disappointing. They show the highest package went was 40 LPA CTC but this is achieved only by a handful of students but 95% of students have to struggle at 4-6 LPA which is the harsh reality.

College Events

2.5

There are 2 events, Technical (Gravitas) and nontechnical (Riviera), These two events are also a great source for the college to generate revenue, they charge for every event from the students and even the club's if they want to organize an event. The events are held on a very large scale and for days together, they are really fun but at the same time really heavy on the pockets too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is very expensive. I am only able to afford it because of the loan I have applied for. There are additional fees for every small thing in college. It's really easy for rich people to get a seat in the college because as I said earlier this college is purely profit-orientated.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did avail a student loan of 15 lacs from PNB under the Vidhya Lakshmi scheme. I had to deposit 15 lakhs worth of security to the bank to avail of the loan

Campus Life

3.5

Campus Life is fine but the gender ratio is terrifying. 20:1 gender ratio with 20 boys per girl is horrendous. There are hardly any extracurriculars but even if there is any event the management is very poor and always fails to send the information to everyone.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes, I opted for a hostel room. It is a double sharing room. It is literally the smallest room I have ever seen. We have 2 small single beds and only one table in the room, there are supposed to be 2 tables in a double sharing room but there's no space to accommodate any other table, the length is the room is not more than 6 feet and it's very tiny.

Alumni/Alumna

No contact with any alumni, but seniors are quite helpful. There is no information about the alumni association, but only a handful of the seniors are helpful.

Admission

I wrote and passed the entrance with a rank of 20000 and got a seat in computer science b.tech. To be honest I only chose Computer science for the placements. The admission process was smooth, there weren't any major issues I faced during the admission, but for sure the number of students here is just too much.

Faculty

2.5

90% of the faculty is very good and highly qualified but there are some who are just against the happiness of the students and are not enough qualified. Not every faculty is great at teaching, some have an enormous amount of knowledge but they fail to teach properly.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
