Remarks

Oh here we go where do I begin, Their menagement is so bad, some times. I think that I, could do a better job then them Alone. When it's time for admission they managed the student line {which was like over several hundreds} 1 whold day took them but they still couldn't admit the students, one time in line some students were so frustrated by the management, that a fight broke out among them. So yeah, not so great.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

To be honest, The course curriculum is kinda relevant for some courses and in some cases it's not. As a Cs honours student, I oveserved that some courses for Cs is really old for example computer system architecture which deals with Morris manor's basic computer. And then there is artificial intelligence and cloud computing course which is not ready relevant but a nececity of a Cs course by today's standerd. But my criticism about the syllabus is that, it deals with a lot of topics that is required and relevant for a CS degree by today's standard, But it doesn't, go deep into the topics, which in my opinion necessary because the syllabus is for an academic degree, not for a technical degree. That being said, over the years the syllabus is changed and the syllabus is revised to train the students for jobs. I think it's not a good thing because we are not focusing for the base of the subjects, and it causes us to struggle at later higher studies like post graduation. For that I say that the course carriculam really trains us to be a professional kn the field rather Than focusing on research or academics. The exam system is pretty standard semester system like most os the countries. We get 6 sems, 2 sems each years and we get 5 atmost years to complete and pass all the courses. The exams of the sems is fair and with Moderate dflificulty.

Placement Experience

2

The placement cell is not as good as the technology based engineering degree colleges as our college only has academic degree courses but a few tech companies (most notably TCS) comes to our placement CELL every year and many students are selected in those companies with reasonable salarys. Sudents are welcome to take summer internships, although it is not mandatory for credits in the course, but all students are encouraged to take internships.

College Events

4

We got tech seminars for our dept, we celebrate annual sports events, we celebrate teachers day every year, and the most fun freshers welcome party etc. To add to all these we also got many international seminars for science, technology and awareness and many others.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For our dept it's ~2000 per semester which is fairly cheap for the middle class majorities of people. It's like we have to pay for admission which is 2500-3000 depends and then the before every sem exam we have to pay for the semester which is like 2000, so it's fairly cheap. And our college also provides scholarships for /poor and sc st obc minority students which helps.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not opt for scholarship although I had good marks because it, was possible that I would not be selected and it was too much of a hassle to get scholarship.

Campus Life

3

Our college has a great campus with a lot of trees and greenary it is really pleasant atmosphere especially in the winter when everyone gathers at the ground, some study, some take selfies some plays guitar and sing overall its a pleasant campus. The gender ratio among the students is kind of equal which is not really a shocking to me because its modern times and females are in no way behind mens. Which is really good. We don't get a lot of workshops, like the flagship colleges though. As for the labs we have well equipped and air conditioned labs. Our college is famous for CS and Microbiology in the city, which speaks the quality of the labs. This also the reason, we have a lot of students coming from far away. As for politics, I don't know I don't do politics, but our student union does, don't know much about it. Al I could say from guess if you Come here you will see both leftists and rightists.

Hostel Facilities

3

Only those who live far or are coming from different cities opt for hostel. Althought every student can apply hostel but those who comes from different cities are most likely to get approved. I live fairly close like 12-15km away from college so I didn't take hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

Our seniors are helpful and friendly. Most of the time they are the ones who organize seminars, events etc.

Admission

The admission for UG students are done through merit list. The selection is done one the basis of grade 12's marks (and by honors subject's marks) for those who applies for a particular honours subject. The marks of honors subs is doubled and added with compulsory related subjects for the applied course Thn the top 100 are selected for admission.

Faculty

3.5

We got a good faculty of teachers in the Cs department. But in my opinion not all the teachers are great(totally according to my perspective). But there are many great prefessors and lecurars in out dept. Most of the professors holds a PhD in Cs, and rest atleast a masters in the subject. Most of the faculty aged between ~27- 50 ish. Overall I would say that we got a very good faculty of teachers with years of experience in the field, but with a few exceptions.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
