Remarks

Positive remarks for vit Vellore is that it has a wonderful infrastructure, academics, and has all the opportunities for overall development. It has a quite good placement record, good research facilities, and it includes practical based learning. However, with time many things need to be changed. Negative remarks- The discrimination and strict rules for girls. It has to be changed.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum was hectic indeed. You are subjected to a total of 9 hrs every day. The weekend too is not spared. Nothing is done for the improvement of the academics or the overall quality of a student. Exams are too frequent and marking is biased

Placement Experience

4

I am a first year student so I don't have much experience in that but according to seniors placements and job opportunities are quite decent. Placement season starts in our college in the 3rd year. A lot of software companies visit. The average package is 6 lakhs and the highest was 40lakhs given by Microsoft. Also, many companies visit our campus for offering internships before the third year. So if we are selected we get that opportunity. For Cs and IT branch it is almost 100%placement but for other branches, it is less.

College Events

3

There are two major events in our college. 1. Gravitas - it is a technical fest in which a lot of fun tech events stakes place. There are a lot of coding competitions with exciting prices, gun games like laser tag, robot wars, etc. 2. Riviera is the cultural fest of our college. It is loaded with fun events like cyber hunt, treasure hunt, Zumba parties, silent discos, etc. Also at night pro shows happen in which many famous singers, cricketers, actors, and actresses come and perform. Also, there are many dance competition s held.

Fee Structure And Facilities

the fee structure in my college varies according to the rank we got in viteee. There are 5 categories. 1st categories are from rank 1-10000 and the rest in other. For 1st category admission, it is 198000 for 1 year excluding hostel and mess charges. For other categories, it is surely more than this but I don't know the exact figure as I took in category 1. It is expensive but it is lesser than the other private engineering colleges which are just open for business.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have a scholarship which can be availed by the students who got up to 4000 ranks in viteee. In this scholarship students have to only pay the hostel and mess charges and the academic fees will be handled by the institute. Also, there is a loan facility available in our college through an Indian bank if the students meet the requirements. For loan a student have to maintain a certain percentage over the course or some actions may be taken.

Campus Life

4

There are a lot of extracurricular activities held throughout the year. Workshops will there at any time you say at any day as there are hundreds of clubs and chapters in our college. But the thing is sine them recruitment the students who already know something. So there is a lot of competition in those clubs and chapters. Also, many people sometimes force you to join a club or attend any workshop just to say that they convinced these many people to attend their workshop. On gender(girl/boy ratio) ratio I will say as it is engineering college it is less but it's okayish. Also, vit has offered some kind of schemes like a scholarship or something like that for girls to increase the ratio. But there are many restrictions on girls like their time of college is 2 hrs earlier than that of boys. Also, there are red tag annas (gourds) who watch for PDAs and take action s against it. So I will say this section has a lot more to improve in our college.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel infrastructure is best here. I will give 4/5 five stars to it. It's because I have talked to some of my friend s in other colleges like Nit Rourkela, daiict, nit tirchy. In comparison to them, my hostel room is way better. Also, we have two water heaters, one water cooler on every floor. The washrooms are generally clean but are old. So sometimes we may face some problems in tap and flush but later it gets fixed. That is why I gave 4 and not 5 stars.

Alumni/Alumna

Our college campus is a ragging free campus and the seniors here are a lot of cooperative I have ever seen. We have Whatsapp groups for junior-senior discussion. So that we can ask doubts and answer some if we know something.

Admission

I gave the entrance exam called viteee for getting admission into vit. Besides this, I gave jee mains and jee advance. I had 96. 38 percentile in jee mains and qualified for jee advance. But I didn't get a seat in BTech Cs or IT program at my current merit. I may get some other branches like mechanical or civil. But since my interest was in cs I looked for other options than IIT or nits. This first name after iits and nits is bits Pilani but then it's exam had a different pattern than regular jee. So same for bits didn't score well enough to get cs. Now comes viteee. It had a similar pattern with jee but had some twist in its questions. I mean some types of questions were different than those in jee syllabus and also it contains 15 English questions. Vitesse contains 30 Physics 30 chemistry 40 maths and 15 English questions of each 1 mark and I have to complete them in 3 hrs. There was no negative marking as time was less. Out of 115 marks score, around 90 may secure a seat of Cs or IT in vit Vellore campus. So I got a rank of around 7000 out of around 1. 25 lakh students who gave the exam and got admission into IT branch for Btech in vit Vellore.

Faculty

3.5

Almost all the faculties are Ph.D. and also they are very cooperative. In some subjects, there are some which we feel are very bad at teaching. But such things are everywhere. However many of them are so good that they will also conduct extra classes for weak students.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
