Remarks

This college is good for those who can study by their own. Beacuse the motive of this college is trigger the student knowledge through class and the students should learn by their own. This college also supports entreuprenership

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course covers all the subjects of the stream throughout all the years. The core subjects are adequately distributed throughout the semesters. There are a total of 4 exams in each semester per subject- the in sem(30 marks), the end sem(70 marks), the practical exams, and a unit test. The unit tests are a part of the college curriculum and other exams are evaluation parameters by SPPU. These exams never put the students under pressure, they are just a way of evaluating the students' performance. Most of the university toppers are from PICT.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement is one of the main Reason I selected this college going through placements there is a avg of 7-8 lakh per annum for a computer science student but it can Very and totally dependent on the student were he/she stands as some of the brave mind has able to get a placement of 32lakh per annum.

College Events

4

As starting from the main and biggest event of our college is Privartan it is the biggest cultural event our college organize many celebrities are invited in this event. Other events include fresher's which is organised for the new students or the 1st year student to welcome them to the new college. And many more kike MUN etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The average fees for the college is 1 Lac. The hostels, though a bit expensive, offer a large number of facilities to the students- WiFi, Housekeeping staff, 24 hrs electricity and water supply, lunch and dinner at the canteen, and the most important of all, the security.

Fees and Financial Aid

Arutchelvar scolarship is given by the college for the students who poor background or the student who is studying well They also provide loan and help the students to get loan through government and study loan from the banks

Campus Life

4

The labs are well equipped and the students can also sit in labs even after college hrs to do their work-projects and research. There are multiple sports events held throughout the year. Though the college ground is small in area, it is always utilised to the full by students as well as staff. The hostels also provide with indoor games like Carrom, Chess. There is a gymnasium which can be utilised by students.

Hostel Facilities

3

I had opted for the college hostel for the first three years here, they don't have hostel facility for final year students. The girls hostel here is a recently constructed building (just 2 years old) and one can say it provides complete comfort to the students. The WiFi, electricity and running water are available all the time. There's a separate housekeeping staff which is responsible for maintaining Cleanliness in the hostel premises and also in the rooms. Security is maintained to a T here, no one can leave the hostel after 10pm, before going to home, the students have to fill out forms, in which they have to mention their parents' contact. This ensures that there are no malicious activities going about. The hostel seats are given purely on the basis of merit. Every year, only the students who satisfy the given criteria are allowed in the hostel. Rooms are also reserved for post graduate students, which are again allocated on merit basis. A guest house is also present here which facilitates the parents to stay while visiting their wards. It is very affordable(Rs.1000 for a night).

Alumni/Alumna

Yes they are so helpful I have never see seniors too be this much helpful. When I started the college I was little scare that they will not help me or so but noo they all are like my big brothers and they help me too the bestt they could have. Teaching technical things as well clearing every doubt I get.

Admission

I have choosen this college through tamilnadu goverment counselling for enginnering. I like to choose EEE and i also got EEE in this college since i had enough cut off. Then i paid the college fee and joined the college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
