Entrance Preview

MPPET. I scored 144/200 and my rank was 1503 AIR. This college is one of the best college in the region. Being autonomous, this college has a very good curriculum and good placement figures. Moreover, being established in 1952, this college has very experienced faculty and resources that are hard to find in any other institute that are getting opened on a daily basis.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is very good. If you are focusing on further studies in technical field only, then you will get a lot help from the curriculum. The entire curriculum is synced with GATE syllabus throughout the four years.

Internships Opportunities

There is not so much culture for internship here. At my time, three companies came for internship Microsoft, Ittiam, and CSC and IIT Bombay (Dr. D.B.Pathak). Apart from that, many student apply to interships by their own sources in various companies. As of the stipend, it depends time to time but average stipend is 10-11K PM.

College Events

SGSITS has one tech-cult fest named as Aayaam. It held in feb-mar. It has many events which grabs tremendous participation form various colleges. Technical events like paper presentation, line tracer, robo war, structural engg competitions, coding competitions occur during the fest. For cultural side, there are senate, literary competitions, music related competitions are there and at the end they have once performance night mainly for and by the students of the SGSITS.

Fees and Financial Aid

For scholarships there are many options available on the college website. I was scholar in my school, so I got "Central Sector Scholarship" during my college time. The fees is quite low so I don't think anybody needs any loan for that.

Alumni/Alumna

My personal experience these 4 years was wonderful. Thanks to such great seniors and juniors too, to whom I was senior. Alumni network is also strong and every year on 22nd December, they gather back at their alma mater and try to figure out if they can repay to this place in any sense. This helps students to set the connections and interactions with them for their career and growth.

SGSITS: JUST A BIG BRAND

Placement Experience:

At the end of 2nd year, companies like goldman sachs comes to take interns. For placements students become eligible from 6th or 7th semester. In recent years goldman sachs is the biggest recruiter, oracle and Deloitte have also recruited, other firms like tcs and infosys also come. Giants like Amazon and google have stopped visiting since few years. Last year highest package was 72 lpa to an ece student. Average lies around 8 lpa. In tech branch 70-80% students are placed. In lower branches 50-60% students are placed. My plan is also to get placed at a decent package after completion of course.

The college have good placements as far as I got to know. The highest package was 8500000 lpa last year and average package was 1900000 lpa. My plan after the degree is to get god job in ECE cire company.

LIFE IN MITS-DU

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to get placed and many companies visits every year for placement and approx 60-70% students gets placement every year.As per my knowledge there is no company which has made no offer.Average package is about 6-7 lakhs per annum.My plan is to take good package from on campus placement drive.If I am unable to get this then I will try for off campus placement and I also want to do MTECH after graduating.

Placement Experience:

Campus Pl start from the 7th semester with good companies visiting for core branches popular recruiters are tafe eichers, CG power, Disa. Cognizant and Infosys for the IT roles also. The average package is up to the 6 LPA. After completing my degree I am planning To join a good company of the mechanical branch which helps me in building my career in the core engineering field.

I applied for IET davv but I kept it as second preference in MP dte counselling. Other options available for me were some IIITs and lower branches in NITs but I wanted to go for IT sector. Now reason for me for choosing this college was it was slight better than iet and slight lower than IIITs but fees of IIITs was very high, So I didn't applied for them. When I applied for sgsits suddenly they increased their fees. I had no option left other than iet or taking sgsits, but in between confusions and dilemma I choosen sgsits by suggestions of relatives and other elders. Admission process is done through MP dte counselling, based on jee mains rank. Cutoff of general category for IT branch is about AIR 45,000. The college is good in terms of placement and development of students

I have applied to many nits and I got seat in NIT bhopal in electronics and communication branch. But I chose Sgsits cse over nit bhopal ece because I wanted to pursue my career in cse and I have no interest in ece. The admission process of the college is easy . First filling of application through date and then if we get seat we have to report college for the final admission process which is just of 1-2 hours and after fee submission your admission is confirmed.
