Entrance Preview

I took Maharashtra state Common Entrance Test. Admission process was centralized and was quick however the process as changed now.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Pretty old stuff in the subjects. The curriculum should have been updated with latest technologies. It currently covers just the basic stuff they used to teach 50 years ago.

Internships Opportunities

None of the companies visited fr internship. We have to go out lloking for internship or the projects. Most of the students found it on thier own that too not for the internship but for the projects. No stipend.

Placement Experience

3

Tech Mahindra was the only company that visited our campus. No other companies visited. They offered around 2.8-3 lac PA. Most of the companies had open campus in the colleges in nagpur.

College Events

3.5

College conducts various events time to time. Technical presentations, competitions, cultural events and many other inter-college functions are held.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees needs to be paid at the start of the academic year. It's reasonable compared to other colleges in nagpur. You could also have an facility emi on request.

Fees and Financial Aid

State government offers a scholarship based on the income. No loan or scholarship is given by the college.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good. Since the college is outside the city your hostel is your home. The nearby town has all the shops and stores. There are stores in campus and just outside the campus where you would get pretty much everything needed. Not much of the robotics competition were held but faculties encourage the participation. College has a very good eqipped gym and the sports complex and hence promotes sports activities.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel is average as compared to the fees. They have all the basic amenities required. Mess food is ok as its in every mess. Need not to expect much.

Alumni/Alumna

Almni meets are not held officially however seniors whenever visit campus would definitely interact with the juniors no issues like the ragging here. Authorities are very strict about it.

Exam Structure

We have unit tests before every semester. Which decides the internal marks for the university exams.

Faculty

4

The faculty is good and very well qualified. The most stable faculty in NU i would say. They have a good experience and care for students. However most of te teachers are from nagpur.

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
