Entrance Preview

VITEEE, They don't give marks but my rank was 10300 something. I got admitted in the first category in mechanical engineering core.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is at its best. All courses offered are good, interesting, and challenging. The curriculum is always updated by the university frequently. Many courses are offered and we have the option to choose our own courses in program electives in our graduation.

Internships Opportunities

Yes but very less in number. There are about 750 students in the mechanical stream itself. And the internship provided by the college is very less summing up to about 50~60.

Placement Experience

1

Placements as for any other college in India are good for CSE stream students. Every year a CSE guy/girl bangs a package of 25~30LPA maximum and an AVG of 4~5lpa of a decent person with a good GPA and no arrears. Placements for IT are good too, but for civil and mechanical streams it is average.

Campus Life

There are many extracurricular activities happening on campus. Campus life is very chill, with no strict rules as such for males and little for females. The gender ratio is approximately 2.5:1 (M/F). The lab is high tech and well maintained. Sports facilities are good too. There are many competitions occurring frequently on the campus, many club chapters are highly active including Robotics VIT.

Hostel Facilities

It depends, as there are many hostel buildings, which include 20 years old ones and the latest new build high tech buildings. So overall very good stay and mess facilities.

Exam Structure

If you join VIT, you better make your mind to give exams every week or even every day. There is a continuous assessment procedure followed in this institute. There are 3 QUIZZES, 2 CATs and a FAT for each course you register in the FFCS system.

Admission

The admission process is very sophisticated. There are 5 categories of admission. The first being the merit ones and the rest 4 are the donations ones. Admission is given only on rank obtained in the VITEEE exam. You have to pay 10000 bucks (nonrefundable) to book a seat for any category.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
