Course Curriculum Overview :
BSc Zoology is a 3 year UG course and it has both practical and theoretical subjects. We have exams which are internals that are departmental and semester exams. We have practicals only during semester exams. Our lab had good facilities and our regular lab classes are helpful to us.
Placement Experience :
Placement and job opportunity for our department is very less we have more opportunities after doing masters, in our college we don't have job opportunity or placement after UG. College should try to bring placement facilities for our department.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee for my BSc degree was less. I had to pay less with many concessions provided to me. I paid around 5000 rupees for my first year. There are many other fee which are not included in this, transportation and hostel fee are different and are charged as availed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I got Fr. Thomas Chakramakkil Endowment, This endowment of rupees 3000 is instituted to award a prize to the student who scores the highest marks in B.Sc, Zoology. There are many other scholarships given to students from our college, there are scholarship from central govt and state govt also for sc/st and poors also.
Campus Life :
Annual Publication of the journal Millennium Zoology, we have Research activities in wild life, Mangrove Biodiversity, Fishery Science,etc.,Millennium Zoology Award at state level for one student project each at UG and PG level. Intercollegiate quiz,Our college offers the ASAP level 1 programme,3 courses namely, Communication Skills in English, Basic IT and an Elective Domain Specific Skill Course. This Programmes is developed, delivered, assessed and certified according to market needs. We have science club, research club, sports club, health club and many other such clubs for participating in extra-curricular activities.
Alumni/Alumna :
We have alumni association in our college which hosts various events from time to time. For promoting academic excellence by giving scholarships, prizes etc.,by conducting quiz, seminars, lectures, workshops, etc. Organizing cultural and educational programmes for the welfare of the academic fraternity, and guided us for future opportunities and steps to achieve them.
Admission :
Admission in this college is given through management quota as well as Government quota. I got through government quota. I applied through Calicut university, after filing form I was shortlisted according to merit and I chose this college in my priority list and was given admission. I had physics, chemistry and biology in 12th.
Faculty :
Our department has 3 faculties they are good and we have 2 non teaching staff at labs they are also good and helpful to us. Our faculty are well educated and has good teaching background. We get their support whenever we need.
