Remarks
There are two drawbacks of MZU 1) Location- as it is 9 km from Aizawl city. 2) Food - as rice is a widely eaten in North East, roti, dosa is hardly found.
Course Curriculum Overview
The campus is quite vast just like any other Central University. The curriculum which is followed is as per COA (Council of Architecture) guidelines. The curriculum is up to date. The Architecture building is a new one with. The infrastructure includes spacious airy classrooms and studios, computer lab, construction yard, academic and seminar complex, OAT (open Air Theatre), jury rooms, material gallery, department library.
Placement Experience
Usually in any Architecture college, private or government aided placements do not take place though there few exceptions. Mizoram University is a central University with NAAC grading of 'A'. Though the faculties here have contacts with firms across metro cities of the country.
College Events
Every semester the department conducts site visit for students to gain construction knowledge by taking them to see some of the iconic buildings of Aizawl and Mizoram. Many workshops are also conducted every Semester in which Architects from different states are called. Some state govt-funded workshop also takes place. Festivals such as Diwali, Christmas are celebrated with great pomp. University festivals known as 'MZU virthli' takes place in the month of April every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As this is a central Government University, fees is very low as compared to other Architectural colleges. Per semester fees is around 30,000 including hostel fees for six months and monthly mess fee of 2000. Students from North East can opt for scholarships which granted to them by their respective states.

No, I havent opted for any scholarships. As stated above scholarships are available for SC/ST students. Students from North East can opt for their respective state scholarships. The scholarship amount is credited to their respective accounts once they fill an online form on govt websites.
Campus Life
The entire campus of MZU is very vast and its fun to interact with students from different departments. Events, seminars, workshops take place at University Auditorium, there is one multi-purpose hall where indoor sports activity takes place. One football field is built up. The gender ratio is almost equal. Students hang out at MZu park, Rendevous park, uncle's cafe, canteens etc.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are extremely helpful and polite in the Architecture department. Interaction with seniors takes place also after college hours as most of them reside in hostels.
Admission
Admissiom in MZU for B.arch can be done in following ways 1) Through JEE paper II 2) Through NATA (National Aptitude in Architecture) Through NATA, once results are declared one has to visit MZU website and click on Admissions. You have to fill a form with a pdf of your NATA score card to be uoloaded there. You will be called for counselling.
Faculty
Faculties are highly experienced in MZU Architecture department. Many have completed their Masters abroad and bachelors from premium institutions such as IITs, SPA, JNUFA, JJ, NIT etc. There are overall 12 faculties including guest faculties and the permanent ones. The HOD himself has experience over 30 years in the field of Architecture.
