MBA course in NIT Hamirpur provides 4 specialisation Marketing, Operational Management, Human Resource Management and Finance Management. You need to select the major subjects and minor during the beginning of 2nd year. The course is majorly divided into 4 semesters over a period of 2 years. It also includes industrial training and internship program. The course consists of semester exams. The course focuses on providing knowledge of various industries depending on the specialisation opted by the students hence improving the on campus placements.

The placement is good in the institute if we look at overall placement records of all departments. MBA being a new course introduced in NIT Hamirpur, hence placement records are not very attractive but companies do visit campus and thier is High chances of one to get placed from campus. Many companies also visit for internship before ending of 2nd semester. Pune based organisation INVESTOSURE hired interns from our batch and senior batches also. The department do take extra efforts to make sure the placement of all students.

NIT Hamirpur celebrate two main fests Tech fest and hillfair during April and December respectively. The participants from all over the country do take participate and explore the beautiful campus along with learning new things. Various management events like B-quiz, playbold (auction), entrepreneurs meet etc. are organised. Fun activities like treasure hunt, computer gaming etc are also organised. Also tech events like architecture showcases, robot race are also organised. Apart from these events sports day is annually celebrated which includes sports like racing long jump, High jump, etc. Winners are awarded with medals. Cricket and football tournaments are organised by the sports committee. From these tournaments one team is selected to represent college at national level for inter NITS.

NIT Hamirpur being an govt. College the fee is quite feasible it also provides stiphen for post graduate students and PhD students (Must be eligible for that). The college consider fees paid thourough SBI ATM or via online banking mode also Demand Crafts are considered. Full transparency is maintained in fees breakdown. Their are some extra charges for paying fees online if you don't have an SBI bank account but those are bank charges only institute doesn't take any extra money apart from the fees.

The campus life is very amazing especially during morning and evening time. When sunrise and sunset we have amazing view near the ground and OAT (open air theatre). The campus is very huge and have many shops for daily needs plus Nescafe coffee shops. The sex ratio is very good in institute whether we consider students or teacher. Ground is huge whic consists of 1full size football ground, 1 cricket pitch (+2nets), 3 tennis courts, 2 volleyball courts, 2 basketball courts. And every hostel have indoor badminton courts along with table tennis and gym. The quality of equipments are very good. The campus itself defines the meaning of secularism of India, students from Kashmir to Kanyakumari are found in here. All students do celebrate every cultural events together and with prosperity.

Yes, I have opted for hostel. Hostel in the institute are extremely good. The boys hostel names are given on the basis of the various mountain ranges of Himalayas like HIMGIRI, DHAULADHAR, SHIVALIK etc. And girls hostel names are AMBIKA, PARVATI AND MANIMAHESH. Two mega hostels are available. For the masters and PhD students seperate rooms are allotted along with free Wi-Fi service 24*7 (HIMGIRI). Also some sharing room is available. Preference is given to the students who scores good in academic year. Toilets and bathouroom are clean and floors are cleaned daily. Their is no shortage of water in hostel. The mess food is very healthy and tasty.

I did my MBA from NIT Hamirpur. The reason to opt for this course is very simple for the development of additional skill set and ultimately using them in esteemed organisation of my choice. There were many factors for choosing this institution for my master's like NIT Hamirpur has best campus situated in the foothills of mighty Dhauladhar mountains in Shivalik range. Other reason was that the faculty members of the institute were very supportive thourough out the admission process and they have direct contact with students, clearly understanding the vision of students and communicating same to during the course. For admission I have first appeared for CMAT and CAT exam the minimum percentile required is 60, to be eligible for the admission. After that I have filled the form for MBA in NIT Hamirpur which mostly came out in March end or April, thourough online process and one need to send their required documents to prove their eligibility CMAT/CAT scorecard, 10th,10th+2, Graduation degree and application form. After this the institute will call selected candidates for GD and PI. After the performance and evaluation of the same was done and institute inform the selected candidates to confirm your seats.

Faculty in NIT Hamirpur is excellent there were 4 professors and 8 assistant professors in Management studies department. Average age of professors would be around 55+ and assistant professor's average age would be around 35+. All teachers are highly qualified and had a wide experience in their respective fields. Along with teaching and research some assistant professors has worked with big MNCs like ITC, INDIA MART etc. All of the teachers are either PhD holders or have cleared JRF/NET. The interaction with students is very friendly but also very professional. All new means of education are used by them for teaching. Group assignment and projects are given.
