Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

i honestly dont think that our educational infrastructure is up-to-date with all these uncommon and really old syllabus. while most other developing / developed countries have gone for more work oriented syllabus, we are still learning things that have no relevance in present life situations.

Placement Experience

2

Companies do visit, but since it is a Government College, the number of placement companies that does campus interviews are much less than that of private institutions.

College Events

3.5

campus placement, carrier guidance, sports events, inter college meets, annual festival. some intercollegiate meets are big, like hundreds of students from 2- 3 College will meet together at an event conducted by a single college. and competitive events does make it fun

Fee Structure And Facilities

i had government infrastructure fees. back in 2011, it was just 6500 / semester. now it might have gone up. these colleges also have nri or management seats which can have fees from 30-60k even back in 2011. so if you are tallented enough to score good exam marks at Kerala entrance exam. you can have much lesser fees

Fees and Financial Aid

no. i haven't. since i got government fees, it is pretty low when compared, so never choose to get education loan

Campus Life

2.5

campus life was good, fun, and nostalgic. yes we had mixed genders, and like any other college days, it had good impact on my life. extracurriculars include sports and arts events, intercollegiate meets, and some tech fests. but not as much as a private college

Hostel Facilities

3

no. I haven't. because the college had no hostels for boys at that time. so we opted for paid hostels outside campus. well. they had hostels for women. both students and faculties. and though it was old. it was still manageable quality

Alumni/Alumna

alumni network is kinda week, since it is professional courses, most are working outside country. so get-together meets are rare. but we keep personal contacts thourough social media and things.

Admission

Admitted thourough kerala entrance exam. examination rank and choice of course made me to reach this college. i choose for electrical and electronics engineering, and with the marks obtained by me in kerala entrance exams, i got admitted to this college.

Faculty

2.5

faculties seems good. though some are highly professional, some really dont have any idea about how to manage the students. some faculties really keep a bond between the students, while some fail to even get respect from the students. back in our days, mental torture was one of the common methods used by some faculties to make the students obey them.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Placements are really good. Since college is related to ISRO maximum students with cgpa above than 7 are elligible for ISRO interviews and are selected based on their performance. Apart from ISRO many campanies like Texas Instruments, UTS, Mercedez , also come here for recruuitment. Many also opt for M.tech and MBA after graduation

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies - [KUFOS], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Food Technology)
Reviewed on May 11, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

I only have postive thoughts about that campus. The campus helped me to remove my pre-occupations, inhibitions, fear etc. It gave a lot of memorable moments, large number of friends. The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.
