Remarks

College management is really the problem why we aren't the top institute in India. Management does not provide flexibility with respect to choice of courses. And also, I think that course schedule can be chosen so as to increase the overall performance of students. Lastly, the management should make sure to provide funding for the projects that students wish to make.

Entrance Preview

JEE MAINS -191 I opted this college since it is near to where I live and also at the time I was joining this college, the placement ranking was very high.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum has got fairly old. I mean if we look at say, a microprocessor course, the very old 8085 processor is taught. It is possible to switch to arm processors without losing any conceptual scheme. Since it's fairly recent and students can afford to buy and practice in their home as well similarly other courses need revision too.

Internships Opportunities

Intern companies are paying a lot to students of computer and software stream, but it's unfortunate to say that few (3-4) from electronics and communication got selected. Actually, I'm still searching for intern opportunities.

Placement Experience

4

Excellent job opportunities for COE, IT, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING STUDENTS. Last month we had a student (Chetan Kakkar : IT Branch) placed by Google for Rs. 1.27 Cr. Although it's sad to say that students of other streams usually don't get this much. From Electronics perspective following companies arrives at campus, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Sandisk, Samsung, NvidiaI'm still in 3rd year, so I haven't get the chance to interact with these companies. Most of them offer from 6-9 LPA. Finally at the end comes TCS which typically offers 3-4 LPA. Again, most of the students get placed in TCS :( (Around 800 last year).

College Events

4

I'm not a big fan of it, but here are few that I know of, Engifest, Drama society's cultural events, Mechanical race event (although venue changes every year).

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive new students have to pay around 1 lakh per annum we had 70 thousand per annum in 2013 it's definitely not feasible for every student a lot of my friends have taken loan to just pay for their fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Only for Backward class students SC/ST however toppers are rewarded at the end of their respective courses.

Campus Life

3.5

College is excellent in moral ethics and standards economy status is very high. Gender ratio is still very declined. It's maybe 5:1 male to female and rest aspects are very excellent (in the above fields asked).

Hostel Facilities

5

Excellent, mess staff is extremely talented. You don't need to eat outside if you have hostel and mess facility. Quality is excellent and variations are excellent as well. PG rates are around 2-7k PM depending upon how much you can afford and what facilities you need.

Alumni/Alumna

I'm sorry I don't have much interaction with seniors i believe that students should be provided enough information so that they don't need seniors to resolve their issues.

Exam Structure

Exams seem to be happening every day (different students have different views) but mid semester really makes a tough experience. Although it would have been better if we had projects instead of exams... More learning and more fun...

Faculty

2.5

Faculty members are fine but reluctant to have strict schedules most of the students either don't want to attend classes or think that faculty is not teaching as per standard.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
