Remarks

No matter how perfect you are there is always room to get better so is the NITRR. Faculties are good and no doubt that students enrolling into the university are better than previous year because competition is getting stiffer. Therefore, to get the best of the best student NITRR must have better Lab facilities and must also focus on the extracurricular activities like by tying up with clubs like TOASTMASTERs or can also organise the combined events with IIM Raipur, which will broaden the students horizon.

Entrance Preview

AIEEE was the exam I took to get into NITRR, I secured state rank under 500 first off, NIT itself is brand and you are branded for your life after earning the degree from here besides the college reputation was so good that I couldn't think of going anywhere else. It was established in 1964 and popularly known for the triple M i.e. Mechanical, Metallurgy and Mining.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

For the first year engineering almost every branch has the same curriculum course work is well structured as far as metallurgical engineering branch is concerned. However, there were few courses during my undergraduate happened to be obsolete, which later after I graduated got revised.

Internships Opportunities

In my knowledge there are Organisations public and private which have tie-ups for offering college internship and scholarship like OP JINDAL conduct interviews of TOP 10 student of the University and grant scholarship to the top three who get through the interview.

Placement Experience

4

Placements and Job opportunities are best in the state. Around 100+ companies visits to the college for campus recruitment and almost all the students get placed. Mining, Mechanical, Metallurgy, IT and computer science have high placements percentage.

College Events

3.5

There are one major technical event of NITRR, which takes place in mid February of every year. This is national level event where colleges from across India participates online or offline by visiting campus. There are also media partners and sponsors for the event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Till 2012 it was 10k/ semester, which was very cheap as compared to any private colleges in the state. Now again fees has increased to 17k/semester still cheap as compared to any colleges in the state.

Fees and Financial Aid

Many scholarships are available for the really brilliant students and also for the one who are descent in studies but who are less privileged. Less privileged one got free books and their fees (exam & tution) subsidised. SBI readily offered to the NITRR students.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life was descent not very glamorous as you see in movies. For extracurricular and sports you have gym, play grounds, badminton and tennis court. Labs are not so good and equipment are quite old they lack funding for these facilities. There are communities which organises debate competition and invites students after selecting the best from the neighbouring colleges in the state or other state.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Old hostels were not so good but it was very affordable. The newly constructed buildings for both boys and girls are really good and affordable.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni are there but not so active, I myself is an alumni now but have not visited college after graduating. But there must be active alumni who must be visiting and doing something good to college. Soon, I will also join the group and start giving back to my college.

Exam Structure

Exam fee is very minimal, during my undergraduate years it was 1000rs/ semester. Now it must have increased but still affordable it would be.

Faculty

4

Faculties of metallurgical engineering branch are very helpful and they neither put unwanted pressure on their students. Professors like Dr. Manoj Chokar, Manwendra Tripathi, A.P Rajimwaale and Manoranjan are very recognised faces in field of Metallurgy.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are eligible to appear for campus placements which starts towards the end of their 7th semester. Companies that visited for Civil Engineering: L&T, Adani, Stratview Research, PlanetSpark and several local firms. The highest packages were offered by Adani (approx 7 LPA) and L&T (6-7 LPA). Around 5-7 students received placement offers from the mentioned companies. It is important to note that a lot many students did not sit for campus placements as they had different career aspirations (government jobs, higher education, business ventures etc.) My plans were to prepare for upcoming competitive government exams as well as try my hand at something different and creative

Yeah ,the course in terms of comprehensiveness is really satisfactory. I have some issues with sequence of subjects which are covered ,but there is no compromise with the comprehensiveness. So I would rate good that too .

1. Students from seventt semester and onwards are eligible for the campus placements. 2. There are ample numbers of comapnies visited in our college like schneider electric, bpcl, bhel, bhel, reliance, catterpillar, eil, and so on. As per the last year data around 130 comapnies made in to our campus and they offered around 800 plus offers to various studenst of different departments. 3. The highets package offered this year is 60 lakhs that is offered by DE Shaw and average package is something around 11 laks per annum 4. Taking considerations of students of all departments, almost 70 percent students get placed. 5. Presently my plan after getting degree is to get into a job.

Microtex, HCL, Wipro and many other IT companies gives us research projects and also their work as well. So, we basically have indirectly worked for them and the ones they feel can add more to their organization comes with a clear mind and take us with a package that we expect them to. So, placements are purely on performance as those who perform well are given best of placements.
