Remarks
In the research and development category, record of our college is not very good. So I would advice any student, looking for R&D opportunities, to not to take admission at our college. If that one case is taken out, then our college is awsome for anyone.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is focused mostly on theoritical knowledge and we have, kind of, chilled day. Because college ends at 5.00pm and after that we have whole evening and night to ourself. College starts at 10.30AM mostly has 1 practical and 4 lectures. The Lunch break is very short, 20 minutes. There are also 4 lectures of Personality developement in a week at our college.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities are somewhat below average in our college. But considering the region where it is situated, it has higher opportunities compared to other colleges in same area. No, our college does not provide internship to its own students and neither to students from other colleges.
College Events
Most of the events in our college take place in the month of February. There is a annual technical event called 'Avishkar', a annual day event called'Revolution' and a sports event called 'fest'. Also we have organised TEDx event twice and also many clubs in our college organise events in between academic year
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's expensive compared to other government colleges but cheap compared to private. Open students of creamy layer have to carve out almost 80, 000 RS per year. While some scholarships are there, they are mostly of 10-15, 000 RS. OBC students have to pay almost 40, 000 per year. While SC/ST pay almost 2, 500 per year
Fees and Financial Aid
PunjabRao deshmukh scholarship Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme concession in fee to OBC, SC/ST Concession to non-creamy layer open students are some of the mostly known scholarships in our college. Also you can get scholarship by Siemens and Cummins company. These companies as part of their Corporate social responsibility pay full college fee of students, give a laptop to each studenavailing scholarship and also give some amount per year to other academic expenses.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is skewd towards boys in Mechanical and civil branch, but in other branches, it is normal.Fresher parties are regularly organised by seniors to first year students. There are many cultural clubs in our college like Dhouruva club etc. There is strict rules against ragging, and you won't find a single student being ragged. As college is situated in India that too in a tier-3/4 city, there is no such thing as Gender diversity here, so you can say atmosphere is STRICTLY NOT conductive to LGBTQ community. While on other hand, There is no discrimination based on caste, race or religion in our college, so doors of our college are opened to students of all classes
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is very cheap(8000 per year) and it's infrastructure is decent. There are 3 students in each room and each one has a cupboard, a table and a chair. Cots are provided by hostel and electricity, water charges are also paid by college.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network of our college is very strong. Recently, one of our college alumunus got All India Rank 1 in Indian Engineering Services exam and he gave an mind-blowing talk on preparation for competitive exams.Alumnis of our college have contributed to give benches for mess, washing machines and many more.
Admission
To get admitted in our college, one has to give MHT-CET exam after 12th(There is all India quota for students from J&K and Northeast). Then after results, admission process starts and based on your ranking, you get admission based on your preference list. I chose Machanical Engineering because I had interest in Mechanical field especially heat and refrigeration, mechanics etc
Faculty
As our college is a government college and a reputed one, teacher here are good.Teachers are recruited thourough Public Service Commission exam. But ratio of Young and old teachers is skewd towards old teachers, most of whom are permanent. Most of this old teachers have good knowledge but due to generation gap, it's not that much useful to us, but government can't remove them as they are permanent.
