Remarks
Every place or thing has something positive or negative things to it but it totally depends on the thinking of the person. But in general if i had to point out something negative about my college that'd me the slow official work. We'd have to wait hours just to get a signature of the principal.
Course Curriculum Overview
The lectures were quite amazing and exam structure was something like this : we had 8 semesters over a period of 4 years. Every semester had 3 internal assessment tests with a maximum scoring of 25. At the end kf semester we had theory and practical examinations with a maximum scoring of 80 marks out of which 28 marks were need to be secured for passing.
Placement Experience
Placement and job opportunities are quite amazing after i graduated from here. And yes they provided us with internships. Companies with big names such as LNT, ACC cement and ultra tech cement came for campus placements. I got the internship with the help of my guide. I managed to crack the interview and got A stipend of 3000 rs a month plus petrol expenses.
College Events
Cultural fest Annual day Teachers day celebration Welcome party Sports events College fest Soft skills improvement Spoken skills events All of these events had full amount of participants. Students would show up to events to these events with full enthusiasm and confidence. We'd get a good amount of times for preparations. College management would help us in any way possible without many interruptions to boost the confidence of students and also to improve our management skills.
Fee Structure And Facilities
A typical civil engineering course fee structure in my college was like this. First year : 65, 000 tuition fee plus 10, 000 for library and other expenses. Second year : 65, 000 tuition fee plus 10, 000 for library and other expenses Third year : 68, 000 tuition fee plus 10, 000 for library and other expenses Fouth/final year : 80, 000 tuition fee plus 20, 000 for library and other expenses such as project works and thesis
Fees and Financial Aid
Getting scholarships was quite simple in our college. There was annual scholarship provided by the state government which was enough to cover the tuition fee fir the college. We also had a student loan scheme by the Karnataka minority development board KMDC. which was again on an anuual renewal with just a mere amount of renewal fee of 12% of the total amount
Campus Life
For extracurricular activities we had a lot of programs we could participate in and weekly we'd have sports option outdoors or indoors totally depends on us.Typical civil engineering branch doesn't have a lot of female students attracted towards it. I'd say there was 1:10 ratio of female to male students in our branch. But however there was opposite ratio of 10:1 in computer sciences branch.
Alumni/Alumna
All the seniors were verryy lovely and helpful. A lot of times students would have some problems that they were not comfortable to share with the faculty so they'd turn to seniors for help may it be personal or academic problem they'd help us in any way they can.
Admission
I love civil engineering. Always wanted to do it. I did research and found out my above mentioned college was best in town. Admission was thourough entrance exam called DCET. I cleared the exam and got enough rank to get into this college
Faculty
Pretty amazing and supportive faculty we had. All of them were well qualified and verryy friendly. Never left a student with doubts and worked on individuals. They help in academics as well but if some student had a doubt in career options as well, they'd help with it too.
