A review about SRM university

Our college can be said as one of the best college in the tamil nadu state. Academics is good and anything apart from academics is exceptionally good. Our college has a very good infrastructure a very diverse culture.

The course curriculum is designed with ample of practical sessions so as to maximize the learning outcome. Every core subject is combined with laboratory course so that the student can understand and have a deep knowledge of the subject. Apart from core subjects they also have aptitude classes and exams. These exams will prove to be very helpful in placement examinations and also in exams like civil service exam.

When considering placements, Srm university offers the best placement offers in chennai. A lot of IT and core companies visit the campus for placements and pick up the students based on their perfomence in the interviews. Similarly a lot of mass recruiters also visit the campus which increases the chance of getting placed in a company. Also the university has a policy thta every student who does not have a arrear and is not willing to do higher studies must get placed in a company. As for as internship is concerned college offers an unpaid internship in the third year of the B tech course. Apart from that a the college also has links with a lot of companies and sends students for paid internships based on their perfomence in academics and extra curricular activities.

Our college has a lot of fest conducted throught the year. The two most noticable fests are the tech fest aarush and the cultural fest milan. Milan is celebrated for 4 days in the month of march. It is a very grand fest where celebrities like top crickters actors come as chief guests. DJ night is the most noticable event of the whole fest. Top DJ's from across the world come to the university to present their perfomence.

The fees is a bit expensive. It may vary from 2 lakhs per annum to 4 lakhs per annum depending upon the grade obtained in the entrance examination and the course we choose. For courses with heavy competiton like electronics and communication engineering or computer science engineering the fees will be around 250000 for students who obtain a rank or 25000 or better than that in the exam and the remaining students will be charged 350000. For courses which have kess competition like bio technology or chemical engineering the fees is fixed irrespective of the rank obtained in the entrance examination.

Scholarship is provided for students who obtain the first 100 rank in the entrance examination. Also students who come within the first 10 rank get free education throughout the degree. College has tie ups with a lot of banks who provide educational loan.

Students who are good in sports are encouraged very well. They are provided a seperate hostel with a balanced diet. Also they are given coaching for betterment and are given chances to appear in national and international competitions. The college has a mixed culture largely composing of north Indians. Majority of Bengalis., Telugu and tamil people. The staffs are mostly tamilians. Gender discrimination never happens in our college. No strict rules are enforced on girls like most of the colleges in tamil nadu does. Students come from various religions and everyone is treated equally without any discrimination.

Hostel is pretty neat and comfortable. Food is avarage. But the hostel fee is quiet expensive. Depending on the type of hostel one chooses the fees can vary anywhere from 1lakh per annum to 3 lakhs per annum. Also there are a lot of pg options near the university. There are some townships around the university where Students can rent an apartment.

College seniors are very friendly and helpful. The college has imposed no ragging in the campus which is very helpful for freshers. Also staffs are concerned about freshers and so take care of ragging. Apart from this the seniors are always friendly and helpful assisting the juniors in whatever they need.

An entrance examination is conducted for all those students who have applied. Based on the rank obtained in the entrance examination, eligible students are called for selection of courses. Availability of courses depends on the rank obtained in the entrance examination. The fees will also be varying depending upon the rank obtained in the entrance examination.

Faculties are highly professional having deep knowledge in the subject. Also faculties are very interactive with the students which makes it easier for the students to approch the faculties for any doubts or queries.
