Maha Barathi Engineering College (MBEC) was established in 2008. This college is running under the Maha Barathi Educational Trust. MBEC is spread over the area of 16 acres of which 17500 square meters for academic and over 3800 square meters for amenities and hostels. Courses offered by this institute are approved by AICTE New Delhi and college is affiliated to Anna University Chennai. MBEC is located 7km. from Chinnasalem railway station. The delegacy of the college is to provide an encouraging environment to enrich knowledge, intellectual property, creativity, and problem solving thereby making the students to become successful citizens.

Placement:

Library:

The library provides a peaceful atmosphere to update the knowledge of the students and the faculty members. The library is equipped with computer, Internet Service, Current Awareness Service(CAS) and Reference Service. Library also has electronic section which consists of CD-ROMs, Pen drives, Zip drives and AV materials including a collection of video courses.

Hostel:

MBEC offers separate hostel facility to the girls and boys. The hostel rooms are well furnished with table, chair, cot and fan. The hostel is cared by a committee consisting of warden, asst. warden and residential tutors.

Club:

The College is having Red Ribbon Club for students. RRC was established in MBEC on 13th October 2009. The aims and objectives of RRC are as follows:

• To create awareness about HIV/AIDS to the student community and general public.
•  To propagate proper information regarding HIV/AIDS.
• To alleviate mites and misconception about HIV/AIDS.
