Remarks

We always want more than we get i have everything which is needed in college but from my 7 years experience in the same college i would just like my college to have a lockers for each and every student who studies there.Everything else is best in my college

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is awesome as compared to others as last sem is dissertation and we have to do 6 months research which gives us opportunities to think and shape our future. The exam structure is normal 40 - 60 pattern.

Placement Experience

3.5

No,There are no placements in my department. They help us by sharing the vacancies and help with their refrences in companies but as such we cannot depend on them for our jobs or placements. My department do not provide internships they ask us to find the internships and i feel that is the best option for us and we from other departments of our college have an upper hand in this area as we are well aware about the job and internship opportunities than them.

College Events

5

As i come from a small department of somaiya university vidyavihar we have departmental fest of our own known as Nutricus but we are very much invited and welcomed by other departments and buildings of our college like the engineering college of somaiya every year organizes a technical fest which includes all the tech savy and new techs cultural fests like symphony and overall somaiya university organizes maker mela which invites new inventors all across the world to showcase their talents and work and somaiya also welcomes many celebrities like musical duo vishal-shekhar ,Amit trivedi and band , shirley shetia ,sapan verma ,zakir khan ,nucleya,dj zaeden,dj shaan, piyush sharma, vipul goyal, kabir cafe, local train etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

It all depends on the course you choose as for junior college it is Feasible around 10,000 for degree it varies from 10,000 to 20,000 and for post gradutaes it is around (40,000 to 1,00,000 p.a) and if you go choose engineering or mba it is high

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes,my college offers scholarship to students who score good marks and to students whose parents yearly income is less than 1,00,000 the policy for scholarship is better as whole fee structure is excluded for them.

Campus Life

5

For extra curricular activities like sports somaiya has its own cricket ground, table tennis , badminton court , squash court, basketball court , athlete ground, running ground and football and basketball playing area and the talking about labs somaiya labs are way better than any other colleges and institutes labs.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel infrastructure is no less than a 3 star hotel and the facilities is awesome I have not stayed in the hostel but listening about it from my friends make me fell like staying in hostel than to travel everyday.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes,they are helpful somaiya has its own alumini comittee and these people help the college infrastructure to decide the syllabus and making a yearly plan and every year somaiya is a host to college reunion in the month of january.

Admission

I am in this college from my Junior college there is no other college in Mumbai with such great clean and nature friendly campus.I took this pg course because it was different from all other courses and only one college other than somaiya had the course then why not choose the best college to do the course. The admission process was little hectic as i had to give entrance exam and luckily i got selected.

Faculty

5

Well my hod is a post doctorate and the assistant teachers are both NET cleared and have a very great knowledge about our course. They also encourage us to go participate in differenet events rather than thinking about their finishing the portion or any other problems they are more like our friends than teachers.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the GIPE are decent. This year the highest package offered was 18 lakhs per annum by Deloitte and IDFC FIRST Bank. Although the placements are not 100% but it's around 60%. Students need to work hard and score well in aptitude test and they should start the preparation from the second semester onwards so that they can easily manage their end semester exams as well as the aptitude test. The average placement package is around 8-9 lakhs. My plan is to get a corporate job and gain some experience and exposure in the corporate world and learn how the things actually work. Many companies that come to the college are looking for data analytics role. The ratio of the companies looking for consultant, risk analyst is less based on market demand and other circumstances.

One of my college student got placed in google with 43 LPA package , many more companies like lupin, cipla , vedanta , wipro etc. Are the most likely placements students love. 90 percent of students got the jobs from placents , and remaining students prevfers civil services and government exams to make career in. If anyone not got placed then college look forward to deal with local companies if students agreed with it they gets placed . After my degree if company gives me the best package I am looking for I would join the company.
